That thing has a heater, seriously?
The plan is to drive up on Wednesday (trailer it up on Wednesday), and then come back Sunday night. Same as usual!

Wow - really nice update, Wayne!

Looks like you are finally able to get in and go somewhere with her now. I mean without some weird wobbly stuff & a bunch of odd noises going on.....

Such a cool looking car!

Thanks for sharing!

I'm still working on jetting the carbs - it's still very wonky on the air-fuel mixture. Also the LM1 AF oxygen sensor monitor is giving me weird results. The car has one of those oddball engines that has three intakes for four cylinders and three exhaust pipes for four cylinders that combine into a single exhaust and then "uncombine" in the muffler. Very odd - the muffler is all for visual with this four tailpipe muffler thing, but I think it's screwing up my readings. They are all over the place...

Wow that's crazy! Someone was really doing some unconventional thinking there!

Good luck sorting her out!

That's pretty much the story on this car. Had to machine a spacer in order to keep the driveshaft from falling out of the transmission. One of the previous owners of the car (from 40+ years ago - he's 86 now) warned me about this happening, and it happened again twice in the past week (fixed now).

I have to assume yours is the only one that is road worthy, and actually on the road with the others all in museums. It is a one of a kind car on the road.

There's another one that's been fully restored, although I've only seen it on a trailer. The third one is in a sorry state, I think. Not sure though...

For me a car has to be beautiful and this thing has that in spades.

- IME reliability issues and quirks can always be forgiven if a "product" is easy to look at.

Well done Wayne for ensuring the future of this car! Designs like this need to be preserved.

How does it drive? Amazing that it looks so low yet simultaneously sits so high.

I imagine there are a lot of sore necks in your neighborhood when people see the Adams Probe on the road. I love how Wayne has used the car already for errand duty.

I still think it will be a sensation at Monterey.

Yes. The first time I drove it, I had five people stop and try to ask me questions on it. The guy in the Waste Management truck stopped too. That's all fine and good, but the thing was barely running, and I had my ear muffs (sound deadening, like the ones used at the race track) on, so I just waved and drove on.

Still working on it. Remaining major issues:

- Still not idling properly. I just got new ignition wires delivered a few minutes ago (NGK), and we'll see how those work. I tried re-using the old, original wires, hoping that they would look period correct, but now that we're having problems, it's time to go back to the basics and start checking everything.

- Motor mounts are an issue - these are really old, and the thing is vibrating all over the place. I need to either find NOS mounts (which are probably still not going to be good), have custom poly mounts made, or adapt something (like the 911 mounts) in a custom application. Putting two rear Porsche 911 mounts might actually work okay in this situation, but I'd have to make some custom brackets and such.

Why don’t you drill the exhaust where it is down to a single pipe and weld in a bung for the innovate O2 sensor? They sell the matching bung + plug.

No real need to do that if one is "going to set it and forget it." Found new issues today, update coming soon...
