If a retired guy liked the way a modern sports car looks, something is very very wrong.
If retired folk hate the Civic R, then they are doing something right.
The styling is bad no matter the demographic. The fact that Honda "toned down" the styling with something more conservative is telling.

Had Oldsmobile had more appealing styling they might still be around but they were just lumped in with the rest of the drab GM products (Olds was on its way out anyway).

There are plenty of people on this board (who are not in their 20s) who would have loved to buy something like a Civic Type R or WRX STI, myself included - they have they income, but the styling is a complete turn-off. Those are customers lost.

A lot of the younger crowd don't need wild styling directly off the showroom floor anyway, they'd rather personalize themselves with the aftermarket. They do want the performance, though.

That’s a huge improvement, looks like an Audi if you removed the goofy wing.

I test drove a Type R and felt it was let down by FWD. Basically all of the mechanical aspects of the car are exceptional, except for the ability to apply power in a turn. It wasn’t understeer, it’s just that the front tires get overwhelmed and spin with even moderate throttle application. Every other mechanical feature of the car was exceptional. But it is ugly, and the interior was styled by Pep Boys.

Ummm... this - if completely true - would mean there is no such thing as a classic look

I get waves and thumbs up from young people fairly often

Bingo. Possibly why most on the Bullitt Mustang board are older than the Mustang buyers who go for the bling.

Unlike the 959 monstrosity embarrassment ?
Or the slant nose Fiero body kit look?
And let's not forget the hideous Gemballa butchery ?

Yea, but the Civic R looks ugly. LMAO.

You know what also gets thumbs up from young people?
VB Beetles and Vanagons and Minis. Cute cars get thumbs up.
Does not make them a sports car that the next gen desires.
