What is really hard right now, is that he is an organ donor, and while he is dead, the hospital is keeping the body alive while looking for people who could benefit from this. The plug was supposed to be pulled today,he was clinically dead yesterday, but the hospital is still looking for recipients.

^^^ hopefully some good will come of this. I think of Gary’s daughter and my sister in law’s father who were both given the gift of life in the form of a set of lungs and a heart. The Achilles’ tendon from a donor I received as my new ACL 3 weeks ago seems pretty small (but greatly appreciated) compared to a major organ.

Well, his organs will help at least 11 other people have a better chance at life, including heart, lungs and eyes. The hospital did The Honor Walk when they wheeled his body to the ER, I had no idea what that meant, but I do now, and it helped Patty as well.

This year just doesn't seem to be getting any better, since I was at the Omni, and I remembered when I had to come down there to bail him out of trouble, and it just hit me.
Zach showed up to surprise me at the country club for my 45th birthday, best part was his mother didn't come



Patty and I in happier times, not really, as she made life hell until I could finally block her
I wish I could find the pictures from a drive and dine from the 80s when Zach was little.
Sadly, I have lost 5 more friends and a 944 as well as having to replumb the house. Just seems like I can't get ahead.

Reminds me of something I was listening to (today) about living in the moment. Focus on the past, it can eff' you up. Even focusing on the the future can cause needless anxiety. Insert some Buddhism mantras, etc...etc.. blah blah blah...

Enjoying the moment is where it's at.
