Depends on your shooting I guess. Me I have around 200 brass for my 22/250 and around 1000 vmax bullets. I'm trying to work up to 1000 for the 9mm and I already have 1000 bullets for it. I will probably practice more with the 9mm than with my 250. For my 22 mag, I keep about 200 rounds on hand but it's a lot like my 250 in that it doesn't get fired unless there's a groundhog in the scope.

Since I don't shoot the 250 all that much "enough" for me is around 100 loaded rounds.

It’s loosening up a little.

Friday, Academy had most calibers on the shelf.
2 box limit.

Cabelas had a good supply of rifle rounds.
Lots of 5.56.

It would help a lot of people would just step back and breathe for a few moments. The panic buying and hoarding aren't helping matters at all.

The only thing I've purchased has been hollow points, since mine is getting old. Honestly they were not much more expensive than before, ~$1+/round.

I've been paying attention to that since I bought my pistol. I looked at PD ammo at the time and thought it was expensive but it really hasn't changed much in price from back in August when I first started looking for ammo till now. Maybe because there's less of it made and used?

It might also be that certain states Hollow Points are "illegal".

My guess is that sales are still running hot as compared to pre CV sales..The surge seems to have passed.

I see ammo prices coming down slowly...and is remaining a bit longer..my guess is that people have already stocked up..

My LGS is now almost fully stocked with both short and long firearms. And, they are starting to get a fairly steady stream of ammo shipments. The only things they are still out of are 22 rimfire and a couple of popular pistol cartridges. Things like 7.62x39, 223, 308, etc are readily available. Seems to be getting better to me. Oh, yeah, primers and powder! Where are the stinking primers and powder?
I picked up a brick of Russian small pistol primers recently just because they were available and (relatively) cheap.

Panic buying, cops being de-ligitimized, just like the toilet paper episode, this is another chapter in the book of Agenda-21. The ammo will return, guns will return, etc. I keeps a nice stock and leaves it be until this nightmare ends. I hear break action, and co2 bb/pellet guns with paper make for fun plinking.

Regulation? No bueno mang, too much govt over-reach. Down here in the dirty south, I can walk in to any shooting sports store, grab some ammo, paper targets, clay launchers etc and be in an out in 15 minutes. Red states are 2nd amendment friendly fer sure. Less govt=freedom.

Looks like most of the online stores and the local ranges are getting fully stocked with ammunition. But brass cased 9 mm is still running for about $.50 a round.

flatbutt 07-06-2021 08:18 AM

I get 4 - 5 emails a day now but prices are still too high.

masraum 07-15-2021 01:22 PM

I get emails from an online place, and prices have been dropping like a rock.

Brownell's shows over 35 varieties of smokeless powders currently in stock. Lots of IMR, Hodgen, Winchester, Vhitavori, Accurate, and Western. No Alliant yet, which I find kinda odd. And still no primers...

OK. I need to purchase powder. Glad I bought bulk primers a while back.
