Polygal. What’s the installed cost?
I see prices from ~$1.20 - ~$3.50 a sq ft depending on the specific product, mm.
Let’s assume a cost of $5.00 per sq ft for the product. Anyone have an idea of labor cost to do a straight 10x20 section plus 5x20 section. Nothing fancy, no curves or other odd shapes. No access issues either. Will top a pergola extension. Yes i know labor prices vary wildly depending on geography so curious what Milt and Look think.

We’re looking at the exact same product to cover our pergola. Sourcing the product from Regal Plastics. The challenge we’re (contractors) are having is how to build up enough pitch for drainage. We’ve had 2 separate contractors look at, we haven’t had any luck getting an installed price. The “blame” going to the insane state of building costs and lack of construction workers available.

Based on how it gets installed I'm pretty sure there is more material / hardware in there than just the sheets so my math is missing some variables. I don't mind paying for quality work but I'm a bit annoyed with this guy, he had $880.00 for "installing 2 customer supplied fans" $440.00 per fan in labor? I don't think so, others may pay that but not me.

How many guys do you get (or need) for $400/hour? There's got to be other overhead expenses in there as well, right? Are the 10 x 20 and 5 x 20 sections in one piece?

The materials are not itemized so I have no idea what else is required beyond the sheets although researching manufacturer recommended installation guides shows that yeah, there is more to it than the sheets. Begs the question, will he be following their guidelines or just "doing it the way he does it"? The two sections are in one piece, rectangles, nothing fancy, no elevation changes, fancy compound curves, just straight up rectangles. The stuff comes in a variety of sizes up to 6x9 from what I've seen so 3 sheets for the smaller space and maybe 6 or so of a different size for the larger space. I've never done it before myself but I'm having a really hard time seeing it being 8 hours of work for two guys.
