Yep, I use one of these as well... helps me control the fish to safely remove the hook and release without resorting to handling the fish with my bare hands, which can result in scale loss, loss of the protective slime, and generally worse outcome for a catch and release fish.

You can let the fish chill out next to kayak. It doesn’t pinch down completely. It only pinches down tight enough to hold that lip bone. A business card would slip in and out.
