78 and rich, he will manage to stay out on bail and delay the trial until he is too infirm to stand trial. Just pull a Bill Cosby, and start using a walker and wheel chair for any public appearance. And hire a large legal team to slow things down, and investigate everyone involved in the trial.

If he is guilty, I hope he spends some time in prison.

As a major true crime aficionado, I’ve been following Robert Durst for decades. He is not going to be able to postpone his trial baring major unforeseen circumstances and he will not breathe free air again in this lifetime.

The sad thing is that he has eluded justice for this long. And he is a criminal psychopath, not a “wacky millionaire.” He just happens to have been born into money.

But having that money probably did a lot to keep his tendencies hidden/covered up/dealt with esp in teens/20s, whereas someone else probably would've been imprisoned long ago.

I believe bail was denied. He has been incarcerated since his arrest.

Actually, this will be his second murder trial. The first was for killing Morris Black, his neighbor in a cheap rooming house in Galveston, TX. Morris Black was definitely not a friend; he was a guy who discovered Durst's true identity somehow when he was on the lam and disguising himself as an old lady, so he had to go. Durst shot him dead and then chopped-up his body and threw it in the Galveston Bay in hefty bags. He is not averse to doing the dirty work when necessary, which will factor into other crimes he is accused of.

Durst's defense lawyer managed to convince a jury that Durst killed Black in self-defense and then chopped-up his body in a panic and he was acquitted. He walked. He is using the same lawyer this time, who has probably bought a new mega-yacht just from this client.

This trial is for the murder of his best friend, who allegedly helped him cover-up the murder of his first wife, (not girlfriend). She was definitely not a witness to that crime, though.

And he has never been out on bail since his arrest for Kathy Berman's murder, he's been in custody for years now awaiting trial. He is not what you would consider a flight risk; his flight is absolutely guaranteed. The chances of him not skipping bail are not even available on your pocket calculator. He could also pay off any bounty hunter from here to eternity.

That and this is OLD news. Does MSM have to take another run at something as tired as this? I guess so but I just ignore it. As I should have done with this thread.
