i bought a set like that in Thailand. Krabi, Thailand.
i carried them lovingly throughout the trip. last day, we had to run for the airport. military airport because of the Coup happening. my stuffing of my backpack in the dark..SNAP! i broke a tip. i ended up sticking them into a potted plant in the lobby and running for our taxi. to date my most adventurous trip EVER. bummed that was damn near the only souvenir i allowed myself.

I've used chopsticks my whole life, obviously. I prefer the cheap squarish wooden kind, that you buy in bulk at Chinese markets. The delicate pointy ones are pretty, but don't shovel quite as effectively in my opinion.
I used to be a regular at a sushi bar in L.A. where you could have your own personal chopsticks stored in a shelf behind the sushi chef. When you walked in, your chopsticks were removed from their fancy case and placed before you. Cool. Remember that scene where Jet Li kills an assassin with his chopsticks? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HyCZUTe54RQ

I like chopsticks shaped like the black ones. The blunt ended bamboo ones you get at asian restaurants are not good at all IMHO.
To answer the question, I was taught how to use them by a Vietnamese friend. Hardly ever use them now and probably don't remember well. SO: Yes No

I rarely use silverware. For me, it is just easier with chopsticks. At Chinese restaurants, the gf and I never us the plastic ones as I can't grab **** with those. We always ask for the disposable ones.

The square wooden ones, due to the rough texture and square edges are a little better at picking things up, but I prefer the bamboo chopsticks with the round ends mostly because they have a better, smoother finish.

Interesting, I noticed in one of the comments on Amazon that these were smaller than the person was used to. They are ~1/4", and most other chopsticks are 1/3". I checked my chopsticks and sure enough, mine are all 1/3". Still, I'm not expecting that to be a problem.

My daily chopsticks are the bamboo ones that are ribbed. They come in a pack of 10 sets for probably $5.

I wish the Keith Titanium company didn't put the name on the chopsticks. My chopsticks should have my name on them, not some other dude's name.

My mom always had us use chopsticks when we went out for Chinese food. Not many others in the restaurants were using them but I'm glad she did because I'm so proficient with them now.
I went to Japan with 3 other Americans several years ago. I did fine, but they almost starved to death. One restaurant we kept going back to would set our table with silverware when the saw us walking up. My wife is Thai so of course she's always used them and now I guess I'm going to have to buy us some titanium because of this thread ![]()

Vash, I love the idea of titanium chopsticks- those look awesome! I order the 5 packs of Taiwanese-made Tetsuboku Chopsticks from Everything Chopsticks dot com. They're great for everyday use and still manage to look classy.
