I always preferred the Hershey syrup in a can over the squeeze bottle…no idea if it was any different and I can’t find it at the store anymore anyway but thoughts of the canned stuff brings back good memories

Anyways, you’re not flawed, just set in your ways. Me too I guess…..especially when it comes to pizza. Don’t mess with it.
When you have one of something and don't like it, why would you have another? As they say, the second kick of a mule...

I like milk shakes, so they're a good use for milk, which I won't drink by itself. Cheap ice cream? Best use is in a milkshake. Expensive ice cream? I'll take that neat, thanks.

Not a huge apple fan, generally avoid caramel, so no caramel apples. Hate the flavor of it, hate the caramel that gets stuck in your teeth eating a caramel apple. Will eat a plain apple, if pressed, if it's not mealy. Prefer just about any other fruit...

I'm old enough to remember the Hershey cans. I prefer making my own chocolate milk to the Hershey chocolate milk that's sold in stores but I drank a ton of that as a young adult, too. Quick breakfast, on the run. Haven't had it in ages, I limit my sugar intake. If I ingest sugar, it's gonna be worth it.

No strong regional preference on pizza, except for Chicago deep dish, which I won't eat. I like good pizza, won't eat cheap pizza.

Hmm…as a New Yorker who has had the best pizza offered in this country, I love good Chicago pizza and Detroit pizza too.

Ironically, while I don’t like the deep dish pizza in Chicago, I do like the mom and pop pizza joints north of Chicago up by the border.

Many moons ago, I cooked deep dish pizza for several years, at a local franchise of regional chain that was quite popular in the 70s. The first time I tried it myself, I absolutely hated it.

My pizza education growing up in the 1960’s was courtesy of Shakey’s pizza. I have little recollection of it now, it could’ve been total crap, I don’t know. But it was not as crap as the deep dish stuff.

When I first toured Italy as a kid, around 1970, I thought they made ****ty pizza as well.

My college buddy (from Queens) used to rave about Egg Creams ... he "showed me" his stompn' grounds a few times ... never had one.

Or a root-beer (or any) float ... blech ... doesn't float my canoe....

Pizza from a "Chef Boyardee Box" ... made ANY Ray's slice an absolute treat ... ALL of them actually

I’ve never had an egg cream, but we used to have brown cows… Vanilla ice cream with Coke.

I lived a block down from the Ray’s Pizza on Prince St. after I left it became an Untuckit Shirt store. Ray’s was always hit or miss and not consistent from location to location. Far better than anything we have around me now. Joe’s on Bleeker was always my favorite for a slice

As a kid, most of the Citrus packing houses had a juice stand of sorts.
That is where I got my first version of an Orange Julius.
Frothy, sweet as can be and best made with a mix of Valencia and Navel orange juice.
Willard's Orange Ice made at the Grigalva Adobe house were worth a long mini-bike ride along the RR tracks.

100% in agreement.

i remember putting pennies on the track and letting the freight trains flatten them.

my neighbor had an Arctic Cat mini bike. All these years later I think about that and about getting one to restore

he rode shirtless, in cutoff shorts, flip flops. hahah.. i have that vision burned into my 6 year old mind's eye.

even Bendy doesnt remember it. his was an arctic cat, i think.
