This Car Matters

https://youtu.be/oAfhzNwZokY

I've been waa watching videos from the Hagarty Drivers Foundation and came across some videos entitled "This Car Matters". There are a few Porsche videos and this is one of them.

This one has some wheels that I have never seen before.
I am wondering if anyone knows the people in the videos I posted, and where are the cars now?

While not a 911, one of the local PCA members here has THE oldest Porsche ever sold new in North America. It is a 52 cabriolet. He has all the records of previous owners, and the full story of the car.

He rescued it from a junk yard long ago. It was almost cut up and used as a salad bar at a local restaurant. Instead they used a E type Jaguar at the restaurant. I ate there many times.

The factory has come to his house to pick it up and borrow it a few times.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I remember those wheels were called "cookie cutters".

You're right they are cookie cutters, I had a couple of sets of those. They were not very popular, but I liked them.

Hobie if you use the embed option your videos will be displayed.
I am not a collector so none of these old Porsches matter to me.
Sitting next to a static display all day is not my idea of fun.

I liked them more 20 years ago with 8 or 9 inch wide cantilever slicks.

Those wheels were actually very popular back in the day! Especially on the older race cars!

I post from my phone using an app called Tapatalk. I don't see an embed option. When I post a video, it shows the thumbnail, (picture) of the video and you just click it and the video plays. Is this not showing up on the actual forum?

shouldn't it be a 901 instead of a 911?
