This is my current one....
I was a little skeptical of my first Skagen because of the metal bracelet. After a couple days getting used to the latch...it's super comfortable. The latch can't open accidentally and the initial band length adjustment is easy. My prior Skagen was just about the same as the one you pictured...and I never noticed any heat from the watch or band...and it was worn outside all summers.
