I was a little skeptical of my first Skagen because of the metal bracelet. After a couple days getting used to the latch...it's super comfortable. The latch can't open accidentally and the initial band length adjustment is easy.
My prior Skagen was just about the same as the one you pictured...and I never noticed any heat from the watch or band...and it was worn outside all summers.

I just go to a jewelry store, pay for them to change batteries...

I had a watch band that needed a link removed. All the old watch shops were closed. I called a few jewelry stores and the all said about the same thing, "the watch man comes once per week" and picks up the orders and brings them back a week later.

I ordered a watch band pin removal tool and magnifying glasses on Amazon and did it myself. Trying to find an actual watch repair facility that will replace a battery while you wait is a thing of the past around here.
