Good morning Ayles....

If you are directing that question to me.....I LOVE this Pioneer unit!

They make quite a few different models and variations. This one plays DVD's which is mostly why I love it so much.

I had to splice in a small harness thingy to bypass the block on video display that's built into the vehicle (available on Amazon). The flash drive plugs into a cable attachment that can be installed anywhere you want. It's a double-din and fit exactly perfectly into where both my truck and Volvo stereos were. I had to remove a small metal brace in the truck so it could slide all the way in but otherwise easy peasey.

Good luck!

I do on occasion stream Pandora to my car stereo, but usually just my music.
If you aren't hearing exactly what you want, then you should change your streaming service. I have not used Pandora in a LONG time but if my memory is correct its more like a radio station. Spotify is not that at all. It's full albums, you can make playlists of whatever you want, you can download said playlists (or anything on the service) for offline use. I do this when I know we will be out of cell service camping etc. It also does a surprisingly good job making recommended playlists via their daily mixes.

If you have friends on the service you can do a blend which has been kind of fun. They also have a device for older cars. I have used it almost exclusively so my son can run the radio with out having to use a phone.

Change my mind!
I used to have a huge library. It was a combination of ripped CDs. I'd been buying CDs since 1984. I probably had 300-400 so a bunch but not tons like some folks. I also had stuff that I'd downloaded from Napster. I used ipods for years, and had adapters to play the ipod through the car stereo.

I don't listen as much when sitting around the house as I did when I was young and single. I did eventually switch to streaming and haven't used my "library" in a long time. I only stream now. I can get a ton of music that I like via the streaming. Some of "my" music isn't available via streaming. I do pay ~$5/mo to Pandora for streaming.

I have found a few treasures in my collection I had forgotten I had. One was a CD that I bought just for the song Bolero. I never cared that much for Barry White, and I found Bolero got great results after the movie 10 came out on video tape. Put on a fire, a glass of wine and the ladies loved it.

Another CD I would have bought, was the Aerosmith album, Pump. The local radio station played it constantly! I sent them a letter and accused them of owning part of the royalties or having an interest in the CD for them to pay it so much. Their reply was only to mail me the CD with a large sticker on the front "compliments of KATT Radio" I just ripped it, and I am an Aerosmith fan. One free CD, score!

Dang I have a lot Rolling Stones, AC/DC, Skynyrd, Led Zeppelin and Beatles and off of ZZ Top.

My selections are most of the late 60s, all the 70s and 80s music of Rock bands. Later stuff of the Stones and ZZ and lots of Van Halen.

The list is long. I have several Bruce Springsteen CDs but I really never have understood the blues. He has so many songs that are just him whining about his hard life. Yea, cry me a river. Maybe because I have never had the blues, I don't appreciate the music.

I am just into hard rock. I never took a single illicit drug except a few tokes on a joint. That just gave me a raging headache, and made my lungs hurt. I stuck with beer. I still love In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida and other acid rock songs. Deep Purple, Made in Japan is a long time favorite.

This makes me want to dig out my old albums and look into digitizing them.

Buy a thing called a cell phone and you can stream anything you want for free and play it in the car via BT

This is all funny because I was just thinking the other day I need to buy some CDs. My car is a 2007 and has a 6-disc CD player (actually quite a nice factory Alpine 525 watt system). Yeah, it's got Bluetooth and I could stream thru the phone but I would actually prefer to just use CDs!

Glenn may eschew tech in his vehicles (although he did upgrade to EFI from a carb in the El Camino) but he is no stranger to tech.

Besides, a direct connect offers a more reliable connection, usually with benefits over BT and usually charges your cell battery at the same time.

Nothing wrong with that, Curt!

My '80 TR7 had a Kenwood head unit with a 10 disc changer under the driver seat! JL Audio speakers.

Subwoofer behind the passenger seat.

I highly recommend Queen's Greatest Hits --- played as loud as possible!

I have the Blaupunkt Bremen head unit in my 911. I now have a 32 gig USB in the USB port for the back of the unit, with 18.9 Gig of my music on it. The front USB port is open in case I want to charge my phone as I drive.

I then whittle down the selections to my most favorites, and got that down to 8 GB and it is on the memory card hidden under the front cover.

This is the Bremen. You can also see the magnetic phone mount that hold my phone for when I might want to just stream from my phone via Bluetooth. I did that for a road trip in a rented car a year ago.

Down in the console is my recent 3D print project. It is a place to hold my water bottle in a handy place. It is foam insulated, and painted to match the interior color.

I may play with the colors on the Bremen, and adjust it to a burgundy color. Mostly I think I prefer the white to make it easy to see in full sunlight, when wearing my sunglasses.

My CDs ripped to 18.9 Gig of data total.

Thanks for the photo and info, Glen.....very nice setup for your 911 there.

I'll keep this in mind for whenever I get my '83 out of restoration.

Here is the head unit in the El Camino. Both cars are white with a burgundy interior. Both cars are called a G body by their manufacturers, and both are known to have a "smuggler's" box. And both have 4 wheels.

The stereo is a 1.5 DIN Retrosound unit. It has ports for two USB thumb drives. It too can steam from my phone via Bluetooth.

Nice easy listing song, Smoke on the Water, Deep Purple, Made in Japan live album.

The two black wires are the USB ports. They sit perfectly in the rear tray of the center console tray that sits on the tunnel.

Yep - familiar with those. I still haven't tucked the one in the Volvo in anywhere. It just lays in the passenger footwell and I move it aside when I have a passenger. Will get around to it one day. When it cools off some later in the year....

I have around 1000 CD's (+ 200 vinyl albums).

I have a unit to copy them but never use it. I don't like the sound of computer compressed music.

I bluetooth music in my cars via Pandoro.
