What is your daily biking regimen?
I have a 16 mile road course that I take that has little traffic in the morning.
I take it every day as early as 7am, but now it's closer to 8am with the time changing. Today, I took it a second time because of the perfect low-humidity in the afternoon. It went easier than in the morning. It's addictive. If I miss a day, I feel lazy.

I can only ride every day if I don't do hills. My daily is a 15 mile out and back loop with about 450 feet total ascent over the whole loop. My hill days add on to the loop with usually an additional 1500 feet ascent but only over 3 miles so it's a long-ish climb. After that i need more than 24 hours recovery.

^^^ That sounds about what I can take also....except there are no hills here.
The biggest 'hill' here would be a rise of almost 100ft in a quarter mile.

I have an 18 mi hilly loop along the base of the mountains that I do frequently. Once a week I do 3-4 10 minute hill intervals on a small mountain nearby, as hard as I can go. Might gravel bike once a week as well.
I find I'm good for 1 really hard day, 2 tempo days and 2 easyish days a week max.

Every other day. About 15-20 miles with 1,500 feet of climbing. If it gets warm for too long I'm done so I start about 9:30 or 10. We do some longer rides but 2-3 hours is enough for me. We ride pretty slow. I use Strava to track how I'm doing on various climbs/etc.

typical daily is 40-50mi, ~15.4+/-mph, 1200-1500' vertical
try to be off the bike before noon the view from my favorite rest stop ![]() ![]() Weekends we head for the Adirondacks 60-80mi, 3-5000' ft of vertical and some spectacular scenery, also some scary no phone coverage scenes right out of Deliverance not bad for 70+ year old farts

Almost Banned Once
|
For me it's simple: Every day except if it's raining before I leave.
- Around 90 minutes is the norm but I often go much longer. (track time also) If I don't go for a ride I often have difficulty sleeping that night.

Same here...but an hour is about my span. (My back surgery reminds me.) Sleeping is def easier after a day with hard biking.

Scroll through the vid. Its kinda boring One 30 -50 miles during the week when possible. Including about 1000' of climbing. The vid is my Saturday ride (50 miles at race pace), it is the last few miles, all up hill to the finish where guys are pounding my face into the pavement. Its about 5 miles of constant uphill at about 18-25 mph depending on the section. If I have more time, I will try and squeeze in two mid week rides at about 40 miles each. I am getting too old for this siht. There's a Sunday coffee ride I sometimes go on but it always end up to be a suffer fest of about 25 miles. Someone always open up and put down the hammer when it goes up hill. We can't help it but chase. |

^^^ My biking is a lot diff than that.
I don't even see that many bikers in each ride. If I see 10 cars or 3 bikers....it's a very busy morning. (and that's in 16 miles) I normally see more deer than cars.

I MTB 4-5 days a week. Usually 10 to 20 mile loops with 1500 to 3000 ft of climbing. We are fortunate to have great trails here in the PNW.

That training ride has been going on since the late 60s. Back then it was a bunch of racers from the club that wanted to beat up on each other. I started riding it religiously since 1984 when I was a pimple face teen. A few Olympic riders had use that ride for training as well as national riders. Its intense, but too much fun. Now there are 50, sometimes more riders meet up every Saturday mornings, a time when everyone is still asleep. I can't wait for tomorrow.

I use the Garmin Varia for road riding. I feel much more comfortable knowing that cars coming from behind see me. It's an excellent item to have on your bike. The closer a car comes from behind...the faster and brighter the tail light flashes.
