Also, is she hot in person? Asking for a friend. |
I'd agree, Danny R is toast. He needs to get a deal with a toothpaste company.
|
Carlos Sainz on radio for his first laps on a very sandy super slippery Qatar track: "My dad would do great in these conditions" - LOL !!! (carlos Sr being an ex- WRC champion)
|
Well done Checo - P13 - quality work... (sainz 12 - not great either)
|
Logan Sargeant 1/10th of a second from beating Albon . Max in another league . Stroll is showing signs of frustration .
|
F1 stewards are so slow... Stupid scenerio for the interviews...
#3 Norris waiting at post qualifying interview - > kicked out and demoted for track limits #4 Piastri "oh cool I'm #3" -> by the end of interview, "sorry you are demoted to 6 also ! Bye" Oh ok, lewis are you still around ? oopsie Lewis is gone? LOL Looks professional ;-) Wait it's not over ! Sainz and verstappen being called into stewards office for their antics.. At this pace Hamilton will be on pole soon ;-) |
HAM says VER has done a good jobhttps://www.bbc.com/sport/formula1/67023341

Interesting to see Max not take the pole at the Spring Qualifying.

Great first time winning drive ! And congrats to Max for winning the driver championship .
|
Three safety cars and the soft tires still fell off the cliff.
Max is world champion. Gosh, I didn't see that coming Best Les |
Yea, that track has a lot of issues. I guess they throw enough dollars at F1 and have a track that sucks, but everyone takes home money so it is OK.
|
Aren’t they saying a whopping 60k spectators possible at the track? I wonder what the actual attendance numbers are.

It is the long tradition of automobile design, manufacturing and racing in Qatar that made them want F1 race there. |

Now I say that living in a city that is famous for a street race. One that works. I only say that because they are still doing it after almost 40 years. But you are talking about something this is supposed to be a race track. They do seem to get more silly. |
No comments on the race, must have been naptime. :D
|
Let's see: McLaren continues to be the best of the rest. Ferrari couldn't even get two cars to the grid.
Hamilton made a bone headed move into the first turn. Pérez choked again. Lots of penalties for track limits. Oh yeah, Alonso made a mistake. Don't see that every weekend. Max won. You do tend to see that. Best Les |
I agree with Les.

I don't know who's responsible for the curbing, more importantly the inspection of said curbs. F1 has stopped racing at tracks they considered unsafe, mostly due to runoff I assume, inadequate pits etc, but they still allow curbs that launch cars or curbs that wreck tires. Pirelli is blamed for poor tires when its F1's fault for not having a standard for curbing.
Track limits are a joke, put gravel at the edge of the track, problem solved. Every race there's lots of camera views of the fans and packed grandstands, not at this past race, reminds me of Gary Bettman putting NHL franchises in places they don't belong. Finn |

The heat really got to the drivers and after the race they only had little glass bottles with water in them? After the race they could barely stand up. How about some ice packs and fans. Should have used one of those DeWalt fans with dry ice in it that they use on the cars. I thought it was sub par response to the problem.
|
Paul I agree . It seems like there was minimal planning to protect the drivers after the race . They know it's hot and humid so no surprise . And hearing about driver fatigue , vomiting in helmets and blacking out while driving is not a good look for F1 . It will be interesting to see if this particular track gets a different date in the future .

I agree that the teams appeared surprisingly unprepared for the race conditions. |

You guys enjoying those middle east GPs ? I can't think of ONE I'm looking forward to. It's not that I'm against new tracks or Sheiks in robes, I thought Turkey was awesome (elevation, that triple corner), Singapore was spectacular if nothing else, but I'm finding out I love seeing classic old tracks (Spa, Suzuka, Monza) almost as much as the show itself... Bahrain, saudi, qatar... One is a sea of walls, this one was a sea of turns (in an oven). Can't seem to memorize them or develop much fondness for the features of any of them... I was reading something from a climate scientist who said 35C + 100% humidity is a death sentence after a few hours since sweat cannot evaporate and cool you down, seems like we were getting a bit close here ? A few drivers went straight to the medical center post race !
In other news HAM is getting a $50K fine for....crossing the track on foot after his ambitious move. And there were rumors in the German press that Papa Stroll was shopping the team (F1 only, not Aston road cars) to Saudi Arabia's Aramco for 800 mil. And that Mama Stroll had enough of watching her son crash and is putting pressure on him to complete that.. Who knows. Could explain Lance's current frustration and pressure. |
Pappa Stroll to Lance, "Come on Lance, let's go try bowling"
|
Name the corners on classic tracks. Easy. Try that at any of the new tracks.
That said, I do have to say I enjoy the Baku race. Remember when they went off into the forest at Hockenheim?? |

Forget Vegas, jump on a plane and fly to Europe and watch a race there, watch a race in between 2 weeks of touring

Probably an easier out than firing your son. AM has a good team they just need a different driver at No. 2 |
Bernie Ecclestone
Got in a bit of trouble?
|
Holy Cow!
The 92-year-old did not declare more than £400m held in a trust in Singapore when asked by tax authorities in 2015. Ecclestone has agreed in a civil settlement to repay almost £653m to HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC), a court heard. He was sentenced to 17 months in prison, suspended for two years. |

His rumored net worth is 2.5 - 3.5 billion . I am sure he had no interest in going to prison . Smart to write the check and make the guilty plea. Stupid to think he wouldn't get caught .
|
https://www.yahoo.com/lifestyle/formula-1-former-ceo-ordered-000000568.html
"Initially, the former F1 CEO pleaded not guilty to the charges and a trial was planned to start next month. However, he changed his plea, resulting in the $800 million bill and a sentence of 17 months that was suspended because of Ecclestone’s age and health issues. If his record remains clean for the next two years, he will not have to serve his sentence at all, the Times noted." |
Yea, it seems silly to make him go to prison, when he paid the rather large fine, and he is a really old man. Just don't do it again!
He did not stab or assault anyone, just tried to keep from paying taxes. It seems crazy to me to have a couple of BILLION dollars, and rick jail time to keep a few million, especially when he is that old. |
