I've never hated a song right away except punk and that's not music that I would say are 'songs'.
So I guess I still qualify for "began to hate." If you want to begin to dislike any music just listen to radio. At any given point they have less than 100 records in the list. 50 or slightly more seems the norm. Saves royalties and feeds the sheep. A created list on Spotify is 50 songs. I think I began to dislike The Who. |

Norman Greenbaum Spirit in the sky, back in the day they played it 100 times a day. Grand Funk Railroad I'm Getting Closer to my home, same problem. Top 40, yagg!

As to OP question: I used to listed to Garth Brooks music back in the day when he was big. They did not age well. If any of his songs come on the radio now I immediately change stations. |
At my wedding reception in 1975 I told my best buddy (that donated the band for my present)
Play anything but "Proud Mary" Guess what the first song was! |

The biggest thing with radio might be the lack of choice combined with a small playlist.
There are times I've gone about two hours with a single song on play repeat. Quote:
For whatever reason "last Christmas" gets a lot of play time in my closest grocery store... Song annoys me ever since the Baby Bee did a break down laughing at some of the lyrics. For me, Christmas songs are fine; the abominations that get played around and in advance of Christmas that are perhaps what I'll call holiday time songs I can do without. There are a few holiday time songs in a big band style I'm fine with. |
Oh me o my o, look at miss ohio.

Could be local to the Mid Atlantic, but FTLOG that ditty gives me a seizure. I live in a fairly radio denied environment except "classic rock"...as much as I enjoyed the Eagles, hard to listen too decades later...I can't tell you why:cool: |

keep on rocking in a free world:rolleyes:

I quit listening to the radio in the mid-80s ....
Just about every damn song on their heavy rotation and limited playlist :D! |

But some music is just plain irritating. Spice girls "What I really Want" is awful. I would rather hear fingernails scratched accross a chalk board than listen to that. |

They would play that on Bruins radio during the game at every stinkin break. It is about as pleasant as nails on a chalkboard. When they started doing that during NHL TV broadcasts I started watching the games with the remote in my hand so I didn't have hear it for the bazillionth time. |
so many really good songs listed.
You all have given me six month's worth of songs to post in the "what are you listening to" thread ;) |

and over, and over and over again. Only then can you tell us that you still think it's a really good song. |
