That sums it up for me, as well.

Nothing to add except this thread sounds like many of Chris Harris’ podcasts.
Some similar laments about the high end of the hobby. If you haven’t listened check him out. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

The influence of American culture in Australia goes back many decades.
I grew up watching Gilligan's Island, The Brady Bunch and Happy Days. Saturday afternoon was Jerry Lewis or Lucille Ball movie time.

Megamillions up to 1.55 $Billion. Hell, you could buy a dealership.
Nope...not buying a ticket...winning would ruin my life.

I originally agreed with the original post, but I thought about it a bit and realized that high $$$$ limited edition models are nothing new for Porsche.
For example, a 930S "flat nose" had an MSRP between $95k and $100k in the late 1980s. That equates to about $250k in 2023 dollars. Yes, they have gotten more expensive, especially taking dealer greed into account, but to look at just MSRP prices, an '87 3.2 sticker price equates to $125k to $130k in 2023, which is about the sticker price for a new 911 carrera.
