https://www.sportsnet.ca/nhl/article/a-look-at-floridas-controversial-playoff-goalie-interference-journey/ Part of me regrets the review process ever got started. It was easier to accept live calls that were 'wrong'. There's nothing worse than a five minute delay and the call is still 'wrong'. |

If one has been an observer of the Canucks/oinklers series, it might lead one to conclude it to be a battle of the 'back-up' goal tenders. Calvin Pickard kept Edmonton in the game after the 2nd period with Canucks (3rd stringer) Silovs keeping opposition big guns at bay - especially when Vancouver was assessed a couple of 'cheese-ball' penalties. The one that sticks out was Petey given a charging penalty when basically standing still. There has been a number of 'grey area' penalties in this series.
It was also poetic justice for the Canucks to take the lead for the win in the dying seconds of the game as Edmonton had done on Tuesday. Things gonna be real interestin' on Saturday night Have a good one guys Cheers JB All ESPN analysts save one, had the oinklers 'walking all over' the Canucks - some of those guys should look for a new line of work! |

Boston Bruins captain Brad Marchand spoke to the media regarding the hit Florida Panthers forward Sam Bennett laid on him in game 3 of their second-round series. He has not played for the Bruins since his altercation with the Panthers forward
Marchand stated the following as shown on the "Spittin' Chiclets" podcast: "Part of playoffs is trying to hurt every other player on the team. The more guys you take out, the more advantage your team has." Well there you go. Truth in advertising. Everyone knows that part of the playoffs is to wear the other team down with punishing hits. No one talks about it but it is truth. March has always been bold enough to be himself and call them like he sees them. He knows payback comes and unlike http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1715993887.jpg he doesn't cry when he has to take his lumps. Some folks will condemn him for saying out loud what every NHL player and fan already knows. Marchand doesn't care. As he once replied when asked how he feels about being booed, "they don't boo nobodies" |
Oh well. It was fun while it lasted

Hey, thanks for the rule clarification 1990C4S - although it behooves me to add (as a 'homer' of course), I didn't like the call - but rules are rules. Cheers JB |

I think the Rangers can do it, they have a solid lineup. Trouba versus Fla, it's gonna be good. SmileWavy |
Quite the attempted comeback for Van last night. Too bad they couldn't get it done for the last 2 games and didn't give it a go until their last period of the year.

Geez 'Goalie Bob' put on a show last night. Is there something going on between Tkachuk & Trochek?
They seemed to be exchanging greetings a number of time last night. Do the Rangers (Rags - in deference to Flat) call on the proto-human Rempe to get the locals all jacked-up for game 2? Notso bold prediction for Cup final - Cats vs 'Rats' - Cats in 7. Cheers JB |
NY was flat all night. No energy. They need Rempe to get in there and get everyone's blood pressure up. "The Moose" has been campaigning for Rempe to be in since before game 1. If anyone knows how to pump up a team it would be him.
I can't say which team but it sure likes a 7 game series to me. p.s. If you don't know who The Moose is, look up Ranger nicknames. |
Big surprise - The Oilers.
they dominated that game, deserved to win. i swore i would not cheer for them ...... that lasted roughly 30 seconds. true story. |

They found something. Nice OT win. |
Both conference finals seem fairly evenly matched - entertaining as hell!! - for me at least.

Robertson with the hat trick. Dallas up 2-1 in the series. Go Stars!
