True, but we watch because we enjoy whatever sport. I literally find myself avoiding contemplation of the fact that Arch Manning has made a boat load and hasn't played much or that the QB at Tennessee reportedly got a $8 million NIL deal just to go to Rocky Top. It makes it easier to watch when you don't ponder those things. But it also makes it easy to be mad when the $8 million QB plays like crap...

Just wait, some kid will owe a bundle to the IRS one day after he drops out and doesn't make the NFL. He will end up in prison and maybe then someone may think this is all a bad idea.

It also removes some of the fun for the fans, but the money folks couldn't care less.

ND needs an offense. They’re wearing their qb out!

Memories of when my daughter was in her early teens...she rolling eyes and saying "BORE-ing".
Sure describes this game so far...

28-7 Ohio State. This is about to get ugly!!!

Now, 31-7. Ugly on its way to being Fugly!!!
Notre Dame looking alive now.
31-15 and just recovered an Ohio State fumble and now on the move!!!

Okay, that all ended with the loudest "plink" off the goal post for a missed FG by ND. All that for nothing!!!

Another edit, now ND just scored a TD, went for 2 and got it!!!
31-23 Ohio State, but here come the Irish!!!
This is turning out to be an exciting game!!!

Bucks kick a FG to go up 34-23 w/26 seconds left. It's over.

Congrats to Ohio State!

If those numbers are remotely accurate there is something severely wrong in my opinion . There is no way a college player should make more money than a pro . At least that's my opinion .
Many of these multi-millionaires at 22 might opt to pursue basket weaving as a career ....

You're 22, financially set for life beyond most wildest imaginations....

What to do?

It's a joke ... and a bad one

Yep ... many will ... as their "gift" is exploited for ea$y money by many around them.

Some will use the windfall wisely... good for them!

It's just not good for sports at all amateur levels tho'... jmho.

After ND's first drive I text my brother and said the Buckeyes would take Leonard running 9 times on every single drive. I thought the ND coaches were trying to kill their QB. We both agreed the Defense would tighten up. By the early part of the 3rd quarter I text him that the game was over. To me it was like the Texas game, there was no real concern of the Buckeyes losing the game. I'm not sure how much of the second half was good play by ND versus the Buckeye players hoisting the national championship trophy in their heads.

A couple of questions:
I haven’t watched a lot of college football in the past 5 years. I don’t recall so many long quarterback runs. “Back in my day” we only ran the QB on 2 yard sneaks. How long has big QB runs been a thing? I thought they were going to wear the ND QB out! Howard ran for a lot of yards too, but they gave him a break now and then.

Also:

What’s with the picture of the beaver?

ND slipped a lot of tackles that went for big yards. Poor tackling is a symptom of not having your head in the game.
