Thanks, Baz. Bama just can't seem to get out of it's own way, and they are just making way too many mistakes and have been very inconsistent. I'll admit, Bama fans have been spoiled for too long. I remember the pre-Saban days, and I don't want to go back to those times. Hopefully, the new staff and this team will learn and improve.

The pass interference call on Texas that got overturned surprised the heck out of me. I think it was the right thing to do despite the fan's bad behavior but I wouldn't believe it if I hadn't seen it.

Honestly, I think the proper call would have been to overturn the pass interference and then call a penalty on fans throwing things on the field.

Generally speaking, I am against fans throwing stuff on the field. In particular...if they end up as "projectiles" headed toward human targets! Not sure I saw that last night so.....

In the scenario last night - I am OK with it. Given the egregious circumstances, I give a pass. You may not agree....but I think circumstances will dictate it differently and it's not only all about the poor call....it's also about the tenor of the game and what is at stake.

Fundamentally, I know I will have push back, and that's OK.

I will also add this to the discussion..... I can't remember the last game I watched that was without a bad call by the refs. Many of them having a significant impact on the outcome. This rule about some not being reviewable is 100% BS. We saw last night that they ACTUALLY CAN review a play - last night they didn't call it a "REVIEW" but rather a "DISCUSSION". Talk about BS.....

Officiating needs to open their damn eyes and get this fixed - now. Not next season.

I'm delighted the fans were able to finally have a say in things in an otherwise screwed up system.

Fix the system and then it won't happen. That is the correct path.

Lastly...I heard the conference will be reviewing the situation. I wouldn't be surprised if Texas gets some kind of fine. Which would be even more BS and would fly in the face of trying to fix things.

Officiating at the college level is atrocious,
but it's always been that way.
Inconsistencies and just bad calls should be expected.
No excuse to act all upset and surprised.
It's part of the game.

But what really irks me is the interference and manipulation by the
people who run the conferences.

Hey, this week we want you to focus on hands to the face.
Next week it'll be illegal man down field.
Call lots of penalties on that.
The sad thing is that they got that from the NFL.
