I agree totally about the officiating. it seems to be worse this year. I was watching the Texas/Georgia game and saw that play and was astounded at the PI call against Texas. The Georgia player was pushing the Texas player and even had his back to the ball, then the Texas player intercepted the ball, and they called pass interference on Texas???
If anything, it would have been offensive pass interference on Georgia. Then the rain began, and I don't blame those fans one bit.
Good win for Georgia. The dawg fans at work will be hard to live with for a few days, but hey, when any of them says anything about Bama losing, I can always remind them that Bama beat Georgia!!! Roll Tide!!!

After the upcoming election, I will be writing to Trump/Vance daily to get them to remove Service Academy sports from FBS/D1, especially football. To the extent that we waste taxpayer money at all on this, they should at least play in FCS or lower.

With lineman at major schools weighing in at a typical 300 lbs or more these days, it is beyond difficult for the Academies to have players of like size due to height/weight standards for Soldiers. For example a Soldier at 6ft 4 inch in height in the age bracket of 21 - 27 can only have a maximum weight of 217lbs. So even if West Point University could recruit a guy in that size range, there is no way they could make it back down to weight standards for continued service. And isn't the mission of WP and the others to educate and train future officers and not football players??
Edit: a 6'6" Soldier can only weigh a max of 229lbs. So as you get taller you don't get that many more pounds to add. I have a friend that is 6'8" and he struggled to meet weight standards

As for the Navy/Army rankings, total BS considering strength of schedule. Here is how Army got there thus far:
Lehigh, Florida Atlantic, Rice, Temple, Tulsa, UAB, East Carolina
Remaining matchups: AF, North Texas, Notre Dame, UTSA, Navy

The crews in the BAMA/UT game and UGA/Other UT, were both pretty bad. What kills me with both is the excruciating amount of time it takes to discuss and make calls. Honestly, it ain't rocket science, just get to it.

In the Bama/UT game there was some illegal substitution nonsense, start of 3rd Q IIRC. Bama player runs on field, off field, then on field again. Someone realized there were too many players so a coach told him to fake an injury, which should be a penalty by itself.

It is getting out of control with the injury thing and they need to put a stop to it.

I propose: player goes down, then there is some amount of game time for which they are ineligible. Either they are truly hurt and steps should be taken for their own safety, or they are faking and should get a time out for their troubles. Maybe a 10 minute game clock time out for the player or something similar. A 15 yard penalty would help, but hard to enforce when someone is actually hurt.

Where did Vandy come from?? And what's with all the competitive 5-2 teams out there? Maybe the transfer portal and NIL money isn't all that bad? I thought for sure we'd only see the "rich getting richer" but it seems to have created some level of parity.

I went to bed last night thinking that PSU was in real trouble and woke up to find they pulled away for the win with their 2nd string QB. Should be a good game next weekend. I'm really questioning Ryan Day as a head coach. All the talent on the Buckeye roster and he and his coaching staff just don't seem capable of getting the most out of that talent.

It will be interesting to see if Vandy can beat the "other" team in Alabama,
Maybe Florida will shock everyone and pull off the upset today.

Really wish we didn't have to play most of the game with our 3rd string QB. But very proud of my team to keep it as close as they did.
