When I was a computer tech for Bank of New Zealand it could get a bit boring so it was always fun to be the first person to yell "Earthquake." when there was even a small one.
One day I was about to yell earthquake when my inner guardian angle said STFU and the next moment a very fat woman came storming into the office to complain. Phew, I didn't feel like getting beaten up by a 16 stone lesbian. |

We felt that one while we were eating on some road side cafe on our boy's road trip. We just looked at each other wondering if that was real. It shook us a tiny bit and it went away

That's isn't Highland Park but the heart of El Sererno still, my mother lives about 1.5 to 2 miles from there at most so she felt this one. Couple things fell off the shelves, no big deal but she said she sure felt it and thankfully the neighbor were really good and they stopped by to check up on her. Something about these old neighborhoods and just older folks in general. I use to drive out when we had the big ones just to check up on my parents and our neighbor, Rena. She was a widow, when she open the door, her face was pale. This was about 15 min after it shook.
I just had my right foot on the first rung on a ladder to check on a client's roof. It hit so hard that the ladder walked and fell. I lucked out if I would climbed that thing 3-5 second earlier, I would have to drive home in my dirty underwear. |

It wasn't that big unlike the bigger ones we had on the past where it did some damage like Northridge or Whittier. The Northridge quake jolt us pretty good back. I can't believe it was over 30 years ago. Anything around 5.0 or below isn't really a real earthquake but a little butt shaker.
