He did act like an adult and showed amazing restraint...a lot of cops and even more non-cops would have lifted him off the ground with an uppercut before he got the first sentence out.

And let's get one thing out of the way, just in the service of truth and accuracy...the guy was not a "kid", no matter how cute you probably find him. A 20 year old is a full-fledged adult in all 50 states. What he did in the video before getting thrown down and cuffed was a the textbook definition of assault which includes threatening someone with the means at your disposal to carry out the threat. In CA., you can be charged with ADW, (assault with a deadly weapon), without touching another human being. An example would be pointing a gun at someone and threatening to shoot them.

I'm sure that you're just a master troll and my hat is off to you...you're very good. Still, I felt the need to clarify some things.

The kid was being stupid because it was a cop he was mouthing off to. Kid was fully aware of the restrictions the cop was under. So, he pushed it...in this case, too far, crossing the line.

Look at the size and shape difference of the two. If the cop wasn't a cop, just someone the same size as the cop...he'd have never pushed for conflict, knowing he'd get his ass kicked.

Could not agree more and I'm the first one to speak out when cops abuse people or exceed their authority. None of that happened in the video, in fact, the cop showed exceptional restraint and professionalism.

I already pointed out to you that the subject getting arrested in the video is an adult, why do you continue to lie about that point, hoping that no one will notice? Is it because your argument fails even more if you tell the truth?

Please do not forget the officer has a duty not only to enforce the law, but to avoid injury to his person. Employers do not like it when employees sustain injury while on the job.
The smart azz learned a life lesson. The policeman got to go home at the end of his shift.

As someone who is pretty well left politically I have....mixed feelings about the police in this country. But I think the officer who arrested that kid (legal adult or not, he had the maturity of an idiot kid) showed a good deal of restraint. Some people learn the hard way where a line is. Hopefully he will take a good lesson out of this experience.

Exactly. I can't imagine trying to do that job. I am fairly patient, but I think dealing with people (and that young man wasn't that bad compared to many of the videos that I've seen) like that and much worse, would wear on me in pretty short order.

My dad was a cop when I was born and for a few years after. I believe the stress, and statistics for how the job affects families and officers is why my dad left and went back in the military.

Any time I have to deal with police (rare) I tried to be uber respectful. Yes, sir. No, sir. Etc.... I've never run into a bad cop. I know that they are out there. I believe they are the minority.
