McD's E. Coli available in 10 states now....

Onions are targeted as the culprit. The ground beef comes from multiple sources...so it's not seen as the problem.
49 sick..one dead.

Quarter Pounder with onions was eaten by most all affected.

Make that 11 states.
Just now announced that Michigan has two cases after eating a quarter pounder.

I noticed a couple days ago that the McRib is due back the first week of November.
I haven't had one in 20? years and I liked it. It comes with onion and pickle...I'll have them leave the onion off.

I don't think I've eaten at a McD's in 10+ years. When I did (maybe every 2-4 years) I'd have a double quarter pounder with cheese as it seemed to have the best ratio of ingredients.

^^^ The only thing I ever get there is a breakfast sandwich when traveling.
The sausage egg McMuffin is good.

^^^ That doesn't look like McDonalds food....but I bet it led to a lot of angry travelers.
I never understood why people would want to pay more for 1st class because of the food.

Just eat before boarding...take a bag of food along.

Don't know why anyone would. I don't see anything the serve as real "food".

Many years ago we saw Jack in the Box with a similar e-coli outbreak, which affected the hamburger supplies at some local grocers as well. Wide spread panic had ensued.

I opened my freezer door, looked inside, and laughed. It was full of game meat that I had shot myself, along with fish I had caught myself, and a side of beef we had sourced from a local cattle ranch. My sons had never tasted of "store bought" meat until they were in college.

It has been a while since I had anything from McDonald's, but my "go-to" has always been a double quarter pounder with cheese, no pickles, and no onions. I always ordered it that way to ensure that it was freshly cooked.

At the rate other restaurants are increasing their prices, McD's will always have a place in the food world. This past week I had 3 restaurant meals, 2 lunches and 1 breakfast, in all cases the cost was over $15 per each meal with tip, in very ordinary places. It seems like not too long ago it was $9.00 - $10.00 for the same meals in the same places.

No kidding - a decent sandwich used to cost between $7.00 and $10.00 (at the most). Now $12-$15 seems like the norm. That's a big leap.

As far as McDonalds, I eat there maybe a few times a year - the Egg McMuffin is actually not a bad option (somewhat healthy as far as fast food goes). And no onions.

I get price shock and simply don't eat out.
Then there is grocery store price shock.
It's a good time for Americans to start growing their own food.

As a beef producer, I’m not completely unhappy with the increased cost of meat. We sold our calves on Monday and averaged just under $2000 per calf. This is way up from 2-3 years ago.

On the downside, last year this time, we cut our herd way back because we were short feed due to the drought conditions in 2023. This year, we have more hay than we’ve ever had and kept back some (expensive) heifer calves to build our herd back up.

The real story is don't eat those deadly vegetables on a burger!

Can't really blame McDonald's they buy onions from a major farm brand, and that is thee source. In the past it was lettuce, and cantaloupe.

Didn't know there were different onions on different burgers? How is it limited to a quarter pounder?

The Quarter Pounder is the only burger from McD's that uses fresh onions.
Their other burgers use dehydrated onions.

Taco Bell, Pizza Hut, and KFC announced they are removing all fresh onions from their stores in locations with outbreaks of e. coli.
