Ha! Well played. I’ll definitely shill for these things as unappreciated cars, especially for the money.

Hey Paul, yes all good with the family. Oldest is getting ready to start real life as an A&P, daughter is a senior and headed to University of Oklahoma next year to study Aerospace Engineering, 8th grade son is doing well at school and shaping up to be a pretty damn solid football and baseball player. No complaints!

Seems like only yesterday we were saying, "Poor Matt, we hardly knew ye." And now you're back.
From one A-hole to another, good to see you back.

Matt, how did you like the Jeep Gladiator?

I will be moving South in a year or so and want to get out of the 1/2 ton truck world.

I have looked at and driven a number of older convertible cars that would be for fun and nothing, especially the a/c side of the ledger, really jumps out.

My thought is to get a convertible Gladiator for chores and trips to lakes and the beach.

For around town, trips to the beach, putting around, etc a Gladiator would be fantastic! Honestly when I bought mine that was much more its purpose. My work was about 2 miles from home, and we frequently pulled the doors and tops on nice days just to drive around town. Then I took a job that had me mostly in Texas and everything changed. As good as the JT is around town it’s that bad on the highway, especially the Mad Max Thunderdrome of DFW. Around town it’s nicely equipped, has good features, well laid out, has adequate space for four adults, and fun to drive. On the highway it’s slow, gets terrible MPG, loud as hell, and gets slapped around by every semi truck. I always loved the truck, but my opportunity to do “Jeep stuff” ended up being about 1% of how I was actually using it. I traded it in on a Ram Limited and have been much happier.

VVV As always, thanks. My goal is to continue to DD the Land Cruiser and use a small truck for around town, the Lake, beach, etc. I just want some open air basics combined with not being worried about a soon to be 30 year old pristine interior on the LC!

I have errands to run this afternoon so I'll go do a "fit check" at the Jeep dealer.

Thanks!
