Slightly off topic but still tin foil hat stuff...
A few weeks ago my brother did some cross country skiing by himself and was walking back to his car carrying his skis with a knapsack on his back. His cell phone was in his knapsack. He bumps into a gal by herself putting her skis away in her car. They did not bring out their cell phones and they never exchanged names. They chatted for about 10 minutes about skiing, etc and then went their separate ways. The next morning she appeared in his Facebook. He dropped his Facebook account after that.

Hmmm... took my bud's cell outta my contact list... had him call...
Yep ... his name ... and not one MOST would know ... we go back 4 decades...Hell ... even I wouldn't answer his call ... I do NOT know THAT guy ![]() In reverse ... my number still shows up when he took me outta his contact list. The common denominator is me on T-Mobile... if this is to combat spoofers, etc. .... IT'S even worse .Steve ... you're on T-Mobile right... test my tin foil hat theory

I get "maybe ....." when someone calls or texts that calls or texts regularly. But definitely put on that aluminum foil. It'll probably make ya look more attractive to the hippy chicks.

I gotta keep Sunshine, Tree, Moonbeam, etc. in my contact list then.....
I don't know their real names ![]() Not many would recognize my buddy's calls now if he's not in their contact list ... it shows up as his first & last name... he's always used his middle name. And my dad ain't calling anyone either

My dad thought that too. He got a call one day from a guy saying "Tom this is your dad". Now, my grandpa has been dead since I was little... but dad was intrigued.

I don't need no stinkin' hat ...it's T-Mobile that's added this "feature" for incoming calls that are not in one's contact list. T-M is excellent at filtering scam/spam calls already .... there is NO need to display callers' "names" ... and most folks won't like it ...
. This started last Saturday .... Where T-Mobile is "mining" the names being displayed is also ???. Be careful what you ask for (The three telco providers limiting BS calls/spoofing) .... They will suck at it, can't really, and do crap like this in an attempt do so imho. If that's the reason.... ??? I want a tin foil sombrero

There are apps out there that will allow a caller to be able to display a caller from your contacts. For example, a lady friend I knew once wanted to be more than just friends, so I stopped any association with her and stopped taking her calls. One night, I got a call from my sister, or I thought it was my sister because my sister's picture came up when my sister called me, so there was her picture. I answered the phone, but no one would speak, I could hear that someone was on the line. I hung up and called my sister back, and she answered. I asked if she had just called me and she told me she had not called me. Shortly after, I saw a post from the woman on Farcebook saying that she had "called him to hear his voice and wanted to say something but couldn't."
That was many years ago, and I don't have Farcebook anymore, and I haven't had any other issues as this. Just be aware that it can happen. Sent from my SM-S916U using Tapatalk
