I had a lot of fun in my 930!

I think someone here is having fun with it now.

The car needs paint so technically I could put them in and weld up the holes and re-schutz them when it is painted but then the tub wouldn't be virgin.

I can't wait to do the suspension this winter, that's for sure.

I can rip to 9,000 RPM through several gears in my RX8 and not have to worry about jail time. It won’t win a lot of drag races but it consistently puts a smile on my face.

It is the american thing to do modifying cars. The easier it is to get aftermarket parts and all that the more they get modified. Like jc whitney everything was available and easy to get for any car so people just did it. Look at all the vw's that got modified till they were unrecognizable. People still chop up american classics like chevelles and novas to make useless drag cars all the time.

Australian, New Zealand, Japanese, European and especially British enthusiasts are probably feeling slighted.
In spite of the economy, the lanes are still packed with useless Chevelles and Novas, and there's a huge aftermarket selling parts to the people who are having fun on the weekends, 1/4 mile at a time.

If you can drive a slow car fast continue driver development and drive a fast car fast.

Here I am driving a fast car with many fast drivers in slow cars.
I think fast car is fun too.

Ted, no doubt that race car is a blast on track. I will not even begin to guess what you have invested in it, the trailer and a tow pig. Plus the space to store the trailer, race car and tow rig.

I just drive my old slow street car to the track, have fun, and drive it home. I paid it off in 1996, and it has increased in value a crazy amount.

At Laguna Seca my instructor was telling me to hit the curbs to shave off a few 10th per lap. I just replied NO! I could not care less about saving time, as I drove my car home on the same tires, and unbent suspension or wheels.

I have driven some fast cars, and been driven on the track in some real race cars. Unbelievable fast compared to any 40 year old street car. I just can't justify the expense of a fast track day car.

That’s a slightly more expensive hobby!

The best cars down here are "original" but a lot of impact bumper cars have been converted to "Long Hoods" in recent years. Back in the late 90s impact bumper cars were being updated to 964 spec.

Personally I wouldn't buy a car that's been modified (bolt on/off mods are OK).

How's this for nuts? - 1982 911SC Targa. Asking price: $224,900 ($144,923.33 USD)
Local car (privately imported from the UK). Original RHD. I've seen it in real life and it's OK but it's not what I would call "a nice car" (recently fully restored).

There is something odd about the seats. They should at least be original sport seats.
