Family member of a friend *was* a truck driving instructor for a large operator.

Apparently most trainees last about 2 weeks and most trainers last about 4 months. (And they aren't eligible for training with this company until *after* they have their CDL--which means 4 weeks of training, thousands of dollars, drug and background tests in Illinois.*) He made it almost a year got canned after telling a trainee to quit because he was complaining so much during the training runs. The six accidents his trainees had apparently was considered normal.

*(Illinois passed a series of laws making getting a CDL very expensive and difficult after a former governor was convicted of driver's licenses--he was Secretary of State at the time--to raise money for his campaign. And this is the guy before Blago.)

I was in a camera shop once and someone was buying some sort of a "spy" lens. It looked like a regular camera telephoto lens, but had a mirror inside to take photos of whatever you were standing next to or above if you angled it down. I don't recall the rest of the details, but it's lulzy.

This old fishing boat was stuck out behind a piling and left to decay. The receding tide caused her back to break under her own weight.
