That completely SUCKS Souk. Take digital photos of the part and how it was shipped up close. Contact the shipping company and see what they say. 10 2 1 it will be sorry, package was not packed correctly. Then at least you can forward that info to said manufacture. When I need or want fiber parts I will know who to stay clear of.

If you paid by credit card, can't you refuse the payment now?

Souk, remember that Guinness you offered to buy me a year or so ago? Keep it and enjoy it yourself. Sounds like you need a break.

I had a damaged piece come in from a subcontactor to my company last week - same thing, except it was an $11,000 sign! It wasn't adequately secured and it beat itself to death against the inside of the crate. I spoke with the owner of the subcontactor and they're replacing it, of course at no charge. Oh yeah, he fired his shipping guy too. At least there's occasionally some justice, and your supplier will get his.

PS: you have a PM

Dude,
Sorry to hear that. I have a very short list of people I deal with. I have very little tolerance for that kind of behaviour. If you don't take care of your customer someone else will(and the 20 people he talks to as well)

Souk, I know it's not easy but try to take it easy. You were done wrong and all that bad karma is now directed at this person.
I agree with forgetting about getting relief from the shipping company. Even the most clear cut cases are hard to collect on. It'll end up being a finger pointing cluster F***.

I'm going out in a bit to have a cold one. I'll have one for you.

I want to keep tabs on this thread. You would figure that he could figure out which side his bread is buttered. People like Hayden at Wevo & Bob at Appbiz will bend over backward to ensure thier customers are happy, & I can't say enough about the fine service by the people at Pelican.

Souk,

I don't know if Third Party passed along the info. about my engine lid to you. The tail was damaged in shipping as well. Cracked as shown below. Sorry to Colin for swiping and modifying his picture..............

Crack seems to be progressing too? It's not mounted. Just sitting on the floor upside down. Could this be a curing/shrinkage occurrence? There's no mat in this area and is certainly a contributing factor to the cause of the crack. The cause of the crack probably begins with the shipping issue.

I know how you feel Souk. I'll agree with everybody on the shipping issue. UPS and the seller of my 3-piece wheels just shrugged their shoulders when I cried wolf about my wheels being bent in shipping. I had be kind of an a-hole and had to eat a little cash on that deal to get it resolved. Jerks! But hey, let the McD's thing go! It's gonna give you an ulcer already!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Souk,
I'm sorry to hear the circumstances and I fully sympathize with you.

I mentioned to this vendor that a dissatisfied customer tells 9 people of their negative experience while a satisfied customer only tells 2. It was ignored.

I hope your situation gets resolved with either UPS or the vendor.

Sorry to hear of the mess.

The manufacturer is responsible for damage to the contents when the box is undamaged. If the box is damaged, then the shipper is responsible. At no point is the customer responsible.

Stuff like this pisses me off.

I was planning on using 'them' for my RSR parts if I ever get around to that project (yeah Souk told me who this is about offline). Hey business X, consider that business that was coming your way, lost to MA Shaw, who will now be my vendor of choice...

Souk, That sucks!!

I just had a sister branch of my company cause me the same kind of pain! They took a 6 foot long 4140 HT pump shaft and tosed it in a box to ship it to us with out any kind of means to secure it and sure enough it came through the end of the box bent the thrust end of the shaft about .020" ( unrepairable by our standards) and thereby cost us about 5500 bucks. The guys in Houston just passed the buck and we got stuck with it corporate wise. I'll never lift a finger to help those guys.

Souk, sounds like you need P-car bonding time!

Let me know when you and Chris want to meet for lunch.

I'll hoist a few for ya this evening!

Crap, are we talking about a guy on the classifieds page or a vendor?
