Osama wouldn't be willing to talk unless he's in a world of hurt...

Osama's mother was a minor wife, and she was from another ME country...Syria I think....so Osama really didn't fit in too well with the other family members..He is the zealot in the family..You know the ones thats always talking about Allah...

The family depends on the Saudi Royal family for it's wealth and position in society...so Osama isn't really welcome...but mothers are known to slip a few Million to their wayward sons in a time of need....

Osamas goal is to rid Saudi Arabia of the corruption and immorality that the House of Saud brings upon the people of the Kingdom...to do that he must purge the Kingdom of the House of Saud...and he can't accomplish his goal so long as the USA maintains it's presence in the region. If he is successfull in purging the House of Saud an Islamic State will be set up modeled on the Taliban and all will be just in the Kingdom again..Once an Islamic state is set up in Saudi Arabia, Saudi can start to use it's influence and wealth to spread the Jihad to neighboring states eventually the region will become one Islamic state.

So let's parse out this thinking: Bush has either purposely spared OBL's life (most likely) or simply failed to find a 6'5" guy who needs kidney dialysis in a country where the average male is 5'8" and there are maybe a half dozen such machines...

Remember the great GWB quote about not being 'particularly concerned with finding OBL' just 6 months after September 11.

History over digs, my friend: OBL has access to anything he wants, and as events go on, propegated by the U.S., OBL can get them anytime he wants. For all any of us know, that "black sheep" stuff is smoke and mirrors. Osama's Saudi, as is his family. And Saudi Arabia is one of our single worst long-term enemies on the planet - either GW likes to look the other way with the Saudis, or they're so successfully disingenuous that all of us have fallen for their song and dance about being allies. No, they are destroying us via our reliance on their oil - that to me makes them enemies.

As well, because of our reliance on them, we're *****ting bricks with the knowledge the current monarchy can fall quite suddenly, and be followed up by Muslim fundamentalists.

I don't know about Michael Moore - don't really care, either as he's a hack w/o credibility (save for his $10-20 million net worth). What I'm saying is news reports across the board have stated Osama gets no money from his family. Well, as I wrote, I find that disputable given general Saudi fundamentalist feelings toward the U.S. and their insistence on providing terrorists to destroy our interests, i.e. 9/11.

Have you lived in Pakistan? I did. The place is not small and the local landholders do not support the government. They are small "armies", and many support Osama. They have 1/2 the population of the US (160M). Compare this to 25M for Iraq and 25M for Afghanistan.
