There's a car store in Malibu that sources Beck replica 550 Spyders (if that's the Spyder you're talking about). FWIW, I've seen the Spyders for sale there for the low $30 K. Of course that is for a replica, but in any event, it's certainly a helluva deal.

All I ever find in barns is crap..... I would love to find an old biplane just sitting waiting for my loving touch. Stearman please. Well ok I'd take a Ryan ST too. Hell I'd like to find just the radial engine from one.

Almost, my dad was a private pilot so between flying with him and tinkering around in college I probably have between 10 and 20 hours of time at the yoke not to mention dozens of takeoff and landings. I never quite got around to going through all the trouble of getting my licence though.
Between my college lab courses and time spent working on fabric, metal and composite aircraft structures I would almost prefer working on them to flying them. I concidered recently getting my A&P certification until I found out the FAA wouldn't count any of my training or experience since its not all documented work on registered aircraft and the university of florida does not have a FAA training certificate. |

i found my first gyrocopter in a barn , took a few yrs but got it for 500 bucks and restored it and sold it on ebay for 7K

never had the balls to take it into the air, it was a wild enough ride on the ground ,
the inventor Benson had a assistant Ken brock with was the only parts guy for these, He got his head cut off 2 yrs ago landing it , i sold it after that |
