I don't like american cheese.

There. I said it - wow do I feel better. I've been holding it in since I was a child but those Kraft American cheese slices are nasty.

I ordered a tuna melt today and it came with this stuff (notice I didn't say cheeze) and it was just gross. Besides, a tuna melt should have swiss on it anyway.

Seriously though; I don't like american cheese.

I can't eat it by itself, or unmelted.

It's okay on burgers, or in macaroni and cheese.

Little known fact: George Bush is made almost entirely of American cheese.

Now you know.

Kraft individual slices, and even Velveeta bricks....call themselves "cheese product." Kraft American cheese bricks, the kind my mom used to get which are still available, calls itself "cheese." I like it just fine. It's the "cheese product" I can do without.

Yup those slices are pretty disgusting however if melted in between 2 slices of swiss cheese in between 2 1/2 lb burgers with lettuce/tomato and all the fixins, it's not that bad.

Bleh! Definately needs melted and put on a burger to be edible. Some kinda dairy product voodoo going on there, I think it's the dairy equivilent of potted meat.

On a similar note, anyone ever try Govt. Cheese? You know the kind they give out to poor folks, supposed to be pretty good in place of "processed cheese food" and it's actually cheese. I wonder how you can get the stuff?

Most cheese is best cooked. Think mozarella melted over spaghetti or pizza, or swiss melted on a sandwich -- oh, baby, that's good stuff. Raw cheese? Not into that, no matter how good the cheese is.

Isn't Cheddar or Monterey Jack also considered "American" cheese? I like those just fine.

Also like Swiss, Brie, Gouda, Mozarella, actually most non-stinky cheeses - that are made from cows - goats need not apply.
