Okay, I happened to catch a bit of this last night. Either it was a second appearance or a replay. It seemed to me that O'Reilly was 'over the top' theatrical. Rabid. O'Reilly nearly popped a blood vessel arguing we need to "stay the course" and "finish what we started." Donohue seemed calm and was basically saying, correctly I think, that if we EVER leave there, we will be leaving unfinished business behind.

You know, I think O'Reilly's argument, and those of his ilk, is so emotional on the "stay the course" matter because he also realizes this is a quagmire we now find ourselves in, and as much of a disaster as that place is now, he knows peace there is tenuous at best and when we leave, it likely will come unravelled a bit. In other words, the folly of Dubya's decision to invade will become even MORE apparent when we leave. Regardless of when that is. So, O'Reilly and Dubya can pretend this was a good decision better now than when Iraq is granted independence from US captivity.

My favorite part seeing it on TV (larger) was OR's hand shaking as he was pointing a finger at D. You don't really catch in in WMPlayer, but on TV it was huge.

Its the terrible desperation that comes from seeing your expectations and fantasies crushed by the realities of this world. Its complaining and whining disguised in anger and presented as conviction. If you look at it as 'spreading the truth,' sure, go for it. I think it's the truth, the truth that Hillary Clinton doesn't want mainstream America to see. The truth is that the party's been taken over by moveon.org and has no future in legitimate politics.

So, the PO of my house planted this vine next to the house. I'm sure it looked good at first, but it took him years to get it trained. It started out along this cool little terrace he made, but it soon became unmanageable.

Today, that vine has totally overtaken every plant in the flowerbeds along the side of the house. it strangles anything else that tries to grow, because it's become too deeply rooted and untrained.

I've spent the last 2 weeks trying to de-vine this area of the house. As soon as you cut one piece, another pops up. It's going to take time, but eventually, I'll get it all out of there.

Is anyone else here bothered by the fact that our current leaders claim to be strict constitutionalists, but have no problem with waging an undeclared war?

Do you think maybe the founders had something specific in mind when they granted congress the exclusive power to declare war?

The founding fathers intended the prosecution of war to be undertaken only with a formal declaration from congress. Somehow they guessed that an unchecked Commander in Chief was a dangerous prospect. The last 40 years have borne witness to their wisdom.
