Anyone have a Desert Eagle?

No no no, I'm not looking to by the .50 cal, I'm thinking of the .357 auto. Does anyone here have one? I like the idea of a Gas operated pistol with low recoil...

Hope you have really big hands... For a semi-auto in a pistol caliber like that, I like my Ruger 44 carbine (one of the old original semi autos). Only holds 4 shots, but weighs about the same as a DE in 44. Also, rifle config is easier to hold, more accurate, and that 18" barrel really brings up your muzzel velocity.

.357 will feel like a .38 in one of these. You'll probably throw your shoulder out if you ever try to use it for a club. A Desert Eagle can be fun as long as you dont actually have to pay for it. I wont say its useless, its a novelty gun at best. Forget .50 cal, try to borrow one if .440 Corbon Magnum. There is no way to slow the slide down enough to keep the ejected shell casings from hitting you in the forehead when you shoot it so it adds to flinch factor.

I use to own a 357 DE, traded it in for a (at the time) new 10mm (when SW started offering them) Still, want a 50, just to have, but it is like the 12 gage Street Sweeper I use to own, not practical, just neat

Hi James!

I hope you have really big hands.....It's BIG....It has a lot of cool factor, just not very practical and never a house gun. It's built like a fu@kin vault. .357 would feel like a .38 special. .44 Magnum shoots very well, and .50 AE........Is basically a hand-held howitzer. I use a slightly warmed over Browning Hi Power in .40 S&W

One of the most utterly useless weapons ever devised. You can get two or three usefull handguns for what one costs, and triple your fun. Have never had one, never will, but I have shot over a dozen of them. I'm still not even sure what they are for...

I used to frequent a range in LA that rented them. My buddy and I tried it one time just for fun. It was cool, but not something I'd own. Try renting one first.
