Nope

Hint:
British car
[edit: got engine details mixed up] straight 6 engine made by a british company, but it had been derived from a german engine
Body "tub" from another German company...look closely

Correct. It's now sitting on the bottom of the Atlantic in the hold of the Andrea Doria.

Windshield and door look 356 and your "tub" note helped on that. However, I have no idea what it is........

SCWDP911 02-09-2007 06:46 AM

Crap! You are stumping me. I just looked through a a listing of all british auto manufacturers and the only thing that looks close is a Talbot. Are you sure it is British?

notfarnow 02-09-2007 06:49 AM

I'll give it away at noon my time... 12 minutes

First to guess it in the next 12 minutes gets a case of beer.

1952 Frazer Nash Continental

This car (rumored one of two) was built using a 356 tub, and a Bristol straight six... which was derived from the BMW engine.

There was a great article on this car in Classic & Sports Car magazine a few years ago. Frazer Nash was owned by AFN Limited (Archibald Fraser Nash) which imported Porsches to Britain until Britain got it's first official dealer.

I thought the Porsche connections would have made it easy!
