In the late 1800s, it was discovered that the earth's energy was nearly depleated. The president contracted Nikola Tesla to use his time travel technology to go back to the time of creation. Once there, Nik installed a radically new device into the core of the earth. This device, which harnessed both zero point energy and perpetual motion, was forever after known as "The Gerorator". Smaller versions are available for your home from distributors nationwide. A nominal $9 fee may apply. Offer void in Kentucky.

It's about 4,000 mile to the Earths core. I think the deepest anyone has drilled is about 8-9 miles. It can safely be assumed that no one knows with absolute certainty what is inside our planet. There is belief by some scientists that the liquid part is nuclear. Much speculation abounds about Earth while we are off looking at Pluto.

Not true. Several explorers have been down there. They reported that in fact they did not find mere Magma.....what they found was Smagma ![]()

Pressure heats. The deeper in the Earth you go, the more the outside presses in, causing pressure. When you compress something, it heats. The heat is caused then by its own mass. The energy is provided by gravity.

One reason: radioactivity.
A few hundred years ago, scientists began wondering how the earth could be only about 5000 years old, as the Bible says. So someone used thermodynamics and rates of heat loss to estimate that the earth, since it still has liquid magma, must be at least a few hundred thousand years old. The Vatican did not like this, but there you are. Later estimates using rates of mountain uplift and erosion came up with an age of the earth of a few million years. More huffing and puffing at the Vatican. Then along came the astronomers who suggested ages of the universe, solar system and earth on the order of billions of years. Now, many scientists, as well as the Vatican, were more confused than ever. How could this be? The earth does not have near enough stored heat to remain somewhat liquid. Then one of the early radioactivity researchers provided the answer. He calculated that a reasonable amount of plutonium, etc. would emit enough radioactive decay to keep the liquid mantle liquid. (The solid inner core is solid because the great pressure overcomes the heat needed to melt rock. Same reasoning as to why you need to boil pasta longer in Denver-lower pressure, lower boiling temp.) All that plutonium and other very heavy molecules were created not in the Big Bang, but in a supernova of our original sun, about 5 billion years ago. That early supernova provided all the raw materials to create our solar system, as well as left over gases that were used to re-form our current user-friendly sun. It's a good thing our mantle is liquid. Because it is liquid, it moves. This movement creates our magnetic field, which shields the earth from the solar winds. Without the shield, our atmosphere would be stripped away, and earth would look a lot like Mars. Mars is solid because it's so much smaller than earth, and radioactive decay was not sufficeint to make up for the smaller size. Mars has no moving magma, no magnetic field, and its atmosphere is only 1% as thick as earth's.

The center of the Earth is one very large, red swollen clitoris.
It's hot.

Jeeze, Craig, I write that brilliant scientific thesis and all you have to say is something about a clitoris? You must have been a joy in the class room.
