whoever programmed the macintosh should be executed

and I mean Summarily....

I just spent the last half hour writing a thoughtful letter to someone and in the process, touched the "NUM LOCK ? CLEAR key......and guess what; everything I wrote is gone!

what human would have devised this machine?

I've thought about giving a Mac a try now that they run Unix. Then again, all of the software I use only runs on Windows...

What application are you using? Nothing happens when I hit that key in MS Word on my MAC.

There's no "clear" anywhere on the three Mac keyboards I have.

I'm not Mac fan, but this sounds like a PIBCAC problem.

You mean the key above the "7" of the numeric keypad? On my Mac it simply says "clear", not "num lock" or anything else. Anyway, that key does nothing when I press it in Word or AppleWorks. Can you re-create what happened? If you can, post details.

My Mac doesn't have a num lock key; the number pad is just that...a number pad. What other purpose does it serve? Always use "control Z" when you inadvertently delete or change anything..even works on those windows pieces o crap.

No system is foolproof.

Our in-house guru had something he said every time there was an update of Windows:

"It's just the old version with another roll of duct tape."
