$25 a bottle. The best bourbon on the planet:

Bookers is comparable in taste, but 2-3x in $$$.

That would probably be their Doublewood, which is quite good and very reasonalby priced.

Their 21 year old is much like Doublewood, but about 30% smoother, and something like $75.00 a bottle. It's for times when you want somethng "a little more special".

Stick with Bourbon. Scotch is aged in used barrels sold off by the Bourbon industry. Even the bestest and most snobbish single malt scotch is 2nd rate stuff. Scotch is made by men who wear skirts

Correct, its aged in two barrels, and the last two years really makes a difference. The 10 year version just is not as smooth. I usually make it through London or Amsterdamm ever few months and the duty free sells it for $40 or so, which is reasonable.

Might have to see if they have some of the 21 year old version next time. Will be there in 5 days or so...

gin man here too, legion. right with you on the sapphire bombay..more often than not though, i find myself just pouring an ounce or two into a shot glass and drinking it like a 'cowboy would in a saloon'..down the hatch..lol. i used to drink tanqueray years ago, but i'm all bombay today. i've a friend who's a scotch aficionado, but i've yet to develop a taste for it..i need more time and practice..lol.

One of the bourbon brands said it used "used" brandy barrels to age their product in.

By its definition, Bourbon can only be aged in a virgin white oak barrel.

Whoops. I have no idea what Pat said, but Scottish people are cool. The comment about skirts is a joke often heard at the Bourbon Festival in Bardstown, KY from the someone in the 'Single Barrel' crowd. It never gets any funnier, but people are usually so ****hammered by that time of the morning from the barrel proof stuff that everyone laughs anyway. Its hard to be snobby or have an elitist attitude about corn whiskey, but I must at least try!

Shuie,

We are just kidding with you but the Scots can be a bit stubborn or difficult at times.

They have been trying for years to establish their own govt and it appears that they are succeeding. They are a bit tired of being governed by the UK it seems!
