Family: Dawn, my beautiful, funny, intelligent wife of 19 years; three dogs (Lucy -14, Sarah - 4, Vinny - 2); two Macaws (Abby and Caesar)
Job: Fifteen years as a pilot for American Eagle, the small-jet arm of AMR corp., sister company of American Airlines. Currently a Line Check/IOE captain on the Embraer EMB-145 Regional Jet based out of Los Angeles. I absolutely love my job but I don't take it home with me.

Hobbies: 911's of all years, snow skiing, world travel, flying
Why OT: I only lurk on this particular forum (although I am active on the 911 technical forum). I can spend hours reading long threads about religion and politics, and I love the humorous threads but I never get involved because it always turns into a pissing contest with no upside. I let others get their blood pressure up and I just sit back and watch in amusement.
ETC: I've made many personal friends in the two years I've been a member of this forum.

Job: Mechanical Engineer for a utility turbine & pump repair machine shop

Family: wife of 12 years with a 12yo son (do the math), black lab mutt, yellow lab

Hobbies: Cars, motorcycles, racing a shifter kart (when I have time), working on my house (currently remodeling the kitchen and removing a wall so that I have more invested than it's worth), past house project was to extend the garage back so it'll hold 4 cars, fishing and boating when someone else has the boat, I used to ride and race bicycles but I lost the desire years ago and I can't seem to get it back.

Cars: 01 Chevy Silverado (I'm not a truck guy but I found I needed it for kart racing and house projects), 79 930 (the never ending project that actually seems close to completion), 06 Intrepid kart, 99 R1100S, 99 323i BMW (wife's car, she said she had to have a RWD manual tranny car, another reason I love her), 06 650SV Suzuki (wifes), PW80 (son's and he never rides it)

Mottos I live by: "Don't sweat the little stuff" and "Indecision is the key to flexibility" (don't worry, I can still make the decision when it's time).

Family : Been with my bride for 30 years. Daughter, 25, trying to find her way in LA, son, 22, a senior in college and discovered that he is not immortal last year when he contracted collitis, a nasty disease, and daughter, 19, is a sophomore at Berkeley and doing quite well. I had prostate cancer surgery last year and can discuss if pm me.
Job : Rocket engineer, principally working with explosive characterization for some 27 years, a little CFD work in there, taught 7-8 grade science/math for three years and worked for Pan Am in 1969-1971 as a co-op engineer. BSME, BS Math, MSME, K-12 lifetime credentials.
Cars : current is 1992 964. Had a 1969 912, 1960 MGA, 1973 Vega, 1965 Fairlane, 1969 2002, 1969 Volvo. Son is into 60's land cruisers, 65 FJ45 and 69 FJ40.
Hobbies : Done a bit, traveled some, now just try to find time for golf, and shortening the "honey-do" list.
Why : If you only listen to yourself, you get stupid real quick. I've always told my kids that there is always someone smarter than them out there and maybe they'd better listen to what others have to say.

Another Wichita guy, sweet! That makes for a grand total of 3, at least that I know of.

onewhippedpuppy,

It is nice to know there are some more Porsche people in the area. I am relatively new to Porsche ownership so if you have any shop recommendations I am listening. Also, is there a local PCA, and are they accepting of us lowly 912 owners?
