air is a compressible fluid.

DohertyCM 10-11-2006 05:39 AM

OK

Look didnt scientist prove that the egg came first.....

I dont know much, but as said before, I did stay at a holiday inn express last night..

And what happened to pluto?

Air is a gas
Water is a liquid
Glass is a liquid
Concrete is a solid....

And my right foot is made of lead and is extremely heavy:D

execmalibu . 10-11-2006 05:55 AM

DohertyCM ... Water is a liquid?

Here in the unique part of the Universe ...So Cal.. (possibly the center of the universe because we have Hollywood) water is not a liquid.

According to Paris Hilton the worlds leading authority on climatic conditions in the Universe. . She thinks that "LA is Hot" therefore we have no water because it evapoates into a gas..

Thats why we all have to drink Tequila...

When she was sitting in my black Speedster in her recent video she did look Hot.. My wife wont let me but if you want to take her for a wild ride at the Holiday Inn? You wont be thinking about Porsches I bet! Charles kieffner you can bring your camera and your checkbook...

oooops I forgot .. she only stays at Hiltons..

Sorry

DohertyCM 10-11-2006 06:11 AM

Hiltons

I had Hiltons... they suck..

Start at the Marriott and work your way down....passing the Hiltons and going right to the Holiday Inn Express.

Chris

PS....HOWS THAT EBAY BID COMING?

execmalibu . 10-11-2006 06:17 AM

"I had Hiltons.. They Suck" Thats what I thought you had in mind!

Dumby!

Dont have her start at your Marriott!...

Have her start at your neck and then work her way down!

Ammatuers....

Paris... Hilton and suck in the same sentence...
Thats what I was thinking when I was with her on set..

I bet her intake ports have been professionally ported and polished and suck (air) much better then a 911S...

pwd72s 10-11-2006 08:53 AM

If'n you cain't dazzle 'em with brilliance, dazzle 'em with bull caca... and if you don't have a fact, make one up....Paris Hilton doesn't have a damned thing to do with the performance of a factory 2.4 911S. Of course, to my mind, Holly-weird has nothing to do with the real world. Neither does Paris Hilton, Tom Cruise, or any of the weird stuff that goes on down there in La-La land. This car was being advertised as a factory car, remember? So which is it, a modified R Gruppe machine (not that there's anything wrong with that) or an "original" 2.4 S? Both have their charms. Will this particular car perform as claimed? I doubt it...but if it's taken to a track day, with L.A. Pelican people who are trustworthy as impartial witnesses, I might believe....maybe,
if the moon and the stars are aligned correctly. But then, I don't believe in astrology either.

Why does execmailbu remind me so much of a former poster here? Anybody remember Edwin DeLong? Did I get the name right?

lateapex911 10-11-2006 09:11 AM

Yup...more baffle 'em with BS is getting peddled here.

yes, exec, an engine 'revs better' if it breaths better...as in it will run up to redline faster....and make more power hgher in the rev band. But well over redline?? THATs the kind of revs you're talking about.. This is basic stuff here...to run over redline, the internals need to be appropriate for the task. Your ad states it's a 2.4S motor, which leads everyone to think it's........gasp.....a 2.4S motor!! Which should NOT be run to 8500!

Your logic sucks, frankly. You say you don't know whats inside, but you were perfectly happy to find out IF it would live by revving the snot out of it!

So, you either DO have knowledge that the parts inside ARE capable of WELL over redline, or you just abuse your car. Or maybe you're clarivoyant?

In the first example, you're not representing the car accurately, and in the second, well, it's your car..abuse it all you want. But in either case, I'm not buying it.

dd74 10-11-2006 09:37 AM

Where is this car, execMalibu? If I have some time today, maybe I'll come by and take a look at it.

EXECMALIBU SPEED CHALLENGE 2006

Here are the tentative "Execmalibu Speed Challenge" Rules:

Katie Holmes may attend, Tom Cruise must stay home. Paris Hilton doesn't need any more wind in her head so tell her and her size 12's to stay home too. She's listed at an 11 but a Cole-Haan rep told me "12". Dem is big feets.
Does shoe size work with women like men? :D

I digress...

1st - Install the correct size tires (185/70 VR 15) No exceptions.

2nd - Have a real speed gun on hand or a certified speed trap. If you get speed gun do not buy it out of the back of Hemmings, Auto Week, et al. Here is a nice link for you law abiding citizens.

http://www.speedlabs.com/contacts.html

3rd - Have your speedometer calibrated. In fact if you can find a chassis dyno that will let you do a full pull you might have some basis to work from although there is no wind or rolling resistance and that my friend is where the rubber meets the road.

4th - Have independent witnesses on hand. (no alcohol or bribes)

5th - Do not do this on a public road. Believe it or not the insurance underwriters DO monitor some of the "smoke" that is discussed on the Internet. This is no joke nor is it paranoia.

Good luck,

Tom

Is the car in Malibu? Calabassas? Tell me now so I can plan accordingly. SmileWavy

911SCfanatic 10-11-2006 09:49 AM

glass is an amorphous solid at room temperature.

daepp 10-11-2006 09:56 AM

I want to know too!

T77911S 10-11-2006 10:02 AM

i liked the question about the speedo being off due to gear change.

i dont think i would want to 165MPH in a stock car...no roll cage
that would hurt if something went wrong.

how would the car handle at those speeds?

execmalibu . 10-11-2006 10:03 AM

PWD72S... lateapex911

PWD&@S and LATEAPEX91,

I dont know what else I can possibly have done differently and/or say!

I advertized the car as having a CORRECT 73"S" motor.. Where does it say Stock,Original,Unmodified or even 2.4 Liter. I discussed that it pulls to 8,500+RPM. And I said that I have driven the car at 165MPH..Believe it..Dont believe it I dont care..

There have been numerous well respected local Porsche experts that have come forward and said that they have worked on/driven this car and have seen it do exactly what I said it can do.

In addition I put real Money on the table offering for any doubters to step forward and witness the 8,500RPM shifts. But I have not had even one person step-up to the challenge..They keep telling me how it is impossible on paper because they have a book or magazine article..

Back in 1963 the Porsche engineers felt that the most that was possible from the design of the 911 engine was 2.0 liters. Slowly they experimented and upgraded to 2.2 liters then 2.3,2.4,2.5,2.8,3.0 and finally 3.8 Liters on the same basic case and crank. If you had asked a senior Porsche Engineer back in the 1960-1970s if 3.8 was possible they would have said NO! "DAT TIS IMPOSSYBLE" "IT VIL NEVER VERK!"

I have never responded well to people telling me "That It is Impossible" "It Will Never Work!" "You cant Do That"..

My responses to the NEY SAYERS has always been.."Yeah Watch This"

My philosopy has always been that I am going to try it..If it does not work OH WELL at least we tried... I am also not crazy or willing to take excessive risks... Just things that seem possible I try and it has paid off BIG TIME!

McClaren was laughed at when he was the First put wings on his cars... Now that was a crazy idea!

So sit back bench race per the specs on paper. Never take a chance and watch as some of us blast past you doing the impossible.

BASH AWAY GUYS

I know That I'll see you in my MIRRORS...

DohertyCM 10-11-2006 10:13 AM

Sorry I brought it up

"There is no clear answer to the question "Is glass solid or liquid?". In terms of molecular dynamics and thermodynamics it is possible to justify various different views that it is a highly viscous liquid, an amorphous solid, or simply that glass is another state of matter which is neither liquid nor solid. The difference is semantic."

I believe the glass matter is closed...

Wasnt this about an EBAY ad?

widgeon13 10-11-2006 10:23 AM

Auctions over, reserve not met, what now????

competentone 10-11-2006 10:26 AM

I thought I'd never get to the end of this thread....

(But I bet this won't be the end.)

Can I come by and see the car? Where is it? If possible, I'd like to witness its ability to climb up to 8500 RPM. I leave work today around 1:30 PM. If nothing else comes up, I have a free afternoon.

Yeah, so just how much, er "artistic license" is allowed in an ebay ad?

Sithot, my shoe size is 13...it means I have big feet...:D I like the rules. DD-14, all I can surmise is that you aren't invited to look at the car. If I lived down there, I'd consider paying $100 to see the engine grenade at a TRUE 8500...as measured on a dyno tach. Kind of like a cruise-in bricking job...where they take a junker, drain it's oil, place a brick on the throttle, having a pool on how many minutes it'll last before it blows.
