I don't know how Jimi can handle it. At the point to which he was frying, you'd practically have to drop in into your eyes to feel anything.

It has been said that Picasso could "draw like an angel", that we was very well capable of doing the more traditional drawing and painting but chose to leap from there and examine other interpretations. Jimi did the same in music. I have great respect for those that can "play" but chose to be more experimental. In fact I tend to disregard the avant guard unless I know they are capable of standards.
My favorite Jimi songs right now are Crosstown Traffic and Hear My Train a Comin (acoustic) . The former as it is a really well put together pop song and the later as it shuts up anyone whom does not think Jimi had the blues. Knowing he could do these things makes his other work all the better. I'm not the only soul who's accused of hit and run Tire tracks all across your back I can see you had your fun But darlin can't you see my signals turn from green to red And with you I can see a traffic jam straight up ahead classic

His very best.. in my opinion is the Star Spangled Banner. I play it on a loud speaker from my boat in a crowded harbor every 4th of July after the fireworks. It's become a tradition. It's perfect. Thank you Jimi....

Charles has a point. If you haven't listened to the Star Spangled Banner thing from Woodstock lately, then give it a listen. At the time it was done, it was WAY OUT THERE in terms of interpretive expression. Today, its genius can be more easily heard. It is a POWERFUL piece. Like Ray Charles' versio of America the Beautiful. You kinda have to be an American to 'get it.'
For me, I've been wanting for many years to replace my missing Cry of Love album. I miss that thing.

"Band of Gypsies" is my favorite Hendrix album. "Who Knows", "Machine Gun" and Buddy Miles singing "Changes". I also heard Hendrix was the opening act for the "Monkees".

Oh, one more: The most astonishing version of Johnny B. Goode I ever expect to hear is the one from the Rainbow Bridge movie and album. Truly astonishing. Hard to think of a better example of the principle of "the great ones make it look easy."

that specific scene rules when on acid i kid you not i dropped out one day , and had that on in the dvd player and as far as i know , i was standing next to Jimi, looking at those crowds....the camera has a sort of fisheye effect as it is sober, and it just adds to the acid experience another really good scene was Santana, especially on girl they kept showing , very pretty, and pretty much on acid as well for those who never tried it, i can tell you , heavy lsd will actually put you there as if you were standing where the camera stood those who do know it , know what i mean... all your senses work together for the illusion...it beats THX, and Dolby Surround by big lengths... obviously you need to make sure that nobody pushes the remote buttons, and puts it on CNN or Fox news or something... that , would be a bad thing. especially if they just happen to be showing war footage ( i once watched 5 hours of North Korean parliament footage on repeat on shrooms... laughed myself silly thinking how free i was compared to those goons )

Jimi got tired of the Rock & Roll especially the showmanship stuff he did...Electric Ladylady was the opening gambit of where Jimi was headed...and unfortunately we only got part of Cry of Love...
"Peace and Love and all that Bu11 *****"..."stand up and sing its your national anthem, and if U don't...then fk U.".....Jimi at Isle of Wight Jimi left a "Voodoo Child" and came back a "Gypsy Boy".. Jimis reflection on who he had become... I personaly can't listen to Jimis first coupla albums...its only after Electric Lady Lady and the concerts from Woodstock on that I think are truly amazing....

actually that's nonsense tabs
i live in Holland, i don't have a caravan i have a well paying job, and enjoy the occasional psychedelic trip ( which is not at all illegal here ) it's not because the USA is anal about all drugs, and fails to see that the use of Psychedelics is older then Judism,Christianity and Islam, that it makes such use a bad thing...Native Americans did it , Ancient Greeks used Ergot, in ancient India no different many of the great ancient cultures , used psychedelics.. maybe you too , should drop out some day , maybe you'de like face yourdemons and ****, instead of flogging your fears on this board in doomsday threads... no?

Any of you guys get to see the MC5 or anything like back then?
BTW you can crack on the Monkees, but remember that Mike Nesmith had a serious post-prefabfour career as a country rocker par excellence.
