Question When are you putting up & taking down the tree?

I would like to set all the Xmas stuff up right after Thanksgiving. The wife wants to right before Xmas.
I would like to take it all down in the middle of January.
She wants to take it down right after Xmas.
That is allot of work for a couple of days of display.
HELP!!

Well it's just me but when I trip over Christmas stuff on my way to get halloween candy, I kind of loose all desire for the holiday in a Haulmark type of way. I agree with your wife.

I put it up the day or two after Thanksgiving and take it down the day after New Years.

No tree for me... that's bachelor perk!

Although I agree with you, seems like a lot of work decorating just for a few days of display but then we are logical thinking men (grunt grunt).

I like Christmas decorations, reminds me of being a kid... as long as I don't have to put them up or take them down.

We usually put it up about 2-3 weeks before christmas - early December.

Allways take it down on 6th January - its the 12th day of christmas, like a tradition.

Mind you, with the summer heat down under the tree is looking rather dead by then.

Up ~ 2 weeks b4 Xmas - down NLT 2-3 days after Xmas. New Years is a time of renewal so the last thing I want hanging around is a dried up tree.

I'm traditional, like Matt. Up Christmas eve, down the day after Epiphany.

Up whenever I can get the time for it, down when I get sick of looking at it.

One year we were so busy we had the damn tree up into late March. It happens.

Up, around december 10th (after the wife starts nagging me about it). Down January 1st or second (because I really want it to go away by then).
Anything longer than that is silly and bugs me.

I'm one of those people who like to do things that are permanent, and hate to do things that are temporary. If I clean my car I expect it to stay clean
Why go through all that trouble ot put stuff up that just has to come down? Because it stirs up certain emotions I don't have. My wife says I'm an insensitive ba$tard, I don't know why

My neighbor across the street is one of those "decorating" types. He has his thanksgiving stuff up but I guess that wan't enough so he has already started putting his christmas stuff up too. Something is wrong with that person.
He spent $2500 to have a professional electrician install outlets all around the front of his house so it's easier to plug in the hundreds of thousands of lights he puts up.
He needs to talk to someone. Intervention or something.
