My son took the fairing off of our Ninja650 and look at what he found hiding underneath!

(Parallel twin that feels like a thumper, a twin or a high revving triple depending on RPM. Interesting engine characteristics.
Still some cleanup work to do).

Bought this xs650 new in 79. Been working on transition to cafe bike for a few years now. Should be able to paint it over the winter to complete project. Currently running 750 top end with shell #1 cam.

I saw this in the parking lot of a grocery store today. I know nothing about it except it is old.

Not old. They didn't change the basic design for over 50 years! I've got one. Royal Enfield Bullet. That probably an early 2000s model. Yup, they were still making bikes with drum brakes as late a 2006!

How much power does your 500cc make?
.
I have a 2014 Continental GT 535, BTW.

Power unknown, but my ass dyno tells me its less than the 22 advertised hp. Its slow, but I've kept it. Love the thump of the single 500cc, bone simple to work on, looks nice as well.

I've been eyeing those Continental GTs.....

On mine I went 3T up in the rear in order for it to get out of its own way. Much too high geared.
Power Commander suited for the bike...it still could use a dyno tuning.
Mine's red but I like their latest green color better.
