Thanks guys, another couple of hours of my life I can't account for. Ran up some of those "Ridge Route" links......fascinating. This thread needs its own forum....."Water, Cars and California". Just great information hiding in here. Enjoying it immensely.

S.W.A.T. charity show and memorial drive
Not sure if this has already been posted in another thread on PPF, just in case..
http://www.drivenworld.com/ The event is rapidly gaining momentum, would be cool to see some of the Pelican/ Mul crew attend. 100% of the proceeds go to the officers families. Cool website Dustin has put together, there's even a forum for you canyon carving denizens.;) |
The Templin version of Dead Man's?
http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y18...g/DSC_0018.jpg Part of the "dirt road" (as it's designated by a sign) that's fenced off. This is the road that leads to Jeff's tunnel/penstock feeders: http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y18...g/DSC_0004.jpg |

Criminals!

I'm keeping your number on my cellphone, in case I ever get arrested. I'll need someone (understanding of the situation, meaning possibly not my wife) to come bail me out.
|
What I found surprising about Templin was the amount of elevation change. From the intersection with Ridge Route, it's ALL downhill... sort of like Stunt or some other Malibu adventure. Only A LOT FASTER. Sweeping turns with a few blind tight corners... and these subtle deviations in road surface that, at speed, tend to throw you up in the air. Combined with Ridge Route, awesome time! Of course, it's sort of a trek getting there.

Kevin,
I saw this after talking with you today... Parachute in field could be D.B Cooper's http://www.koin.com/content/news/topstories/story.aspx?content_id=c8cdd7ec-23d8-4c3d-8dfd-b3d4851101a4 |

But yes, there are a lot of ripples in the pavement that upset the chassis right at key corner-entry moments. Man, I wish I had some of those MIRRC stickers with me today... |

I think your boy is still out there. He's probably broke and working as an engineer, but he's out there. |

This is how the interior of the garage looks now with both 911's inside.
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1206546362.jpg After pulling the motor recently, I was able to inspect it well. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1206546386.jpg This is a shot with the MFI pump still on the motor for reference. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1206546429.jpg Now on it's engine stand and off of the floor, it looks much better. The engine next to it on the right is my old SCCA-A sedan Camaro engine. I sold the car with the spare motor installed. This engine that I kept (on the stand) is a LT1 350 Chevrolet engine with Crane roller rockers, 30/30 service cam (1969 Z28 solid lifter), forged steel crank/rods with flash grinding/polishing (magnifluxed included), 2.02 hi-perf heads with Z28 guide plates, Sig Erson racing double springs with titanium retainers, TRW forged Aluminum hi compression (11:1) pistons, Milodon right and left turn racing deep sump, Unilite distributer, power pulley, fuel pump block off, and a Edelbrock Scorpion-Tarantula intake manifold with a divided plenum. It usually ran best with a Holley 850cfm double pumper carburator. This motor has about 50 miles on it and produces approximately 420 horsepower. Might be fun in a 911 body. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1206546490.jpg |

After doing much reading and some talking to experts, this is the stuff to use to free up a Porsche MFI pump.
A friend found it in gallon size for me, here it is. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1206548198.jpg The pump needs to be shimmed up off of the container bottom with metal so only the control rack and pistons will be submerged. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1206548242.jpg Now the pistons are at the correct level for total submersion. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1206548263.jpg Here is the other side of the pump. We are ready to free the poor little baby. Soon, I want to be singing, "Free at last, free at last, thank god almightly it's free at last". http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1206548284.jpg |
A Wet Pump
At Noon the MFI pump was submerged. It will be checked every 6 hours.
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1206563230.jpg All working parts that have been exposed to fuel are under Chemtool. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1206563253.jpg Here is the other side. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1206563277.jpg |
FINALLY...a peek at the 911 chop top.:D

This is turning into some kind of Technical Thread. ;)
Chris, The end is in sight! Or shall we say a new beginning? |
