Sorry but you are out of it.
You obviously don't know anything about Mulholland and don't appreciate it and that's too bad.
Don't hack on Mulholland just because you were born too late you loser.
If you don't like the pavement, don't drive on it.
Mulholland dosn't want you there.

And try to spell Mulholland correctly, turkey.

wow, I can't believe i missed this, did you really call me a turkey?
are you serious, I was just backing up joseph's point. yeah you really speak for the road.

did he really call me a turkey?

thinkfloyd14 05-19-2007 10:13 PM

You disrespected Mulholland Dr. and those that raced up there. Your choice of words was wrong. Joesph simply stated that we should branch out and drive different roads. We do, but, Mulholland is mystical and is legendary for a number of us. We enjoy driving Mulholland every Sunday. Yes, the road itself is deteriorating, but once you drive it a few times, you can avoid the bad spots.

As long as I have nothing else to do Sunday afternoon, I will show up for the drive. It is nice to get away from the computer and takes my mind off of other things as well. The apres drive is always fun as well.

I still dont get how I ill respected any one person or group of people. I was talking about a piece of asphalt on the side of a mountain. If i wanted to be called a turkey ( still dont get why anyone would call someone a turkey) I would have directly said something about banning, but I didnt. the only person i can understand calling me a turkey would be howard stern because i kinda insulted him a little but besides that i was talking about a road. Mullhollands a great road but I dont think people should race on it NOW. Too many people drive it now, its way too crowded. I guess ill take the time now to officially suggest that if you guys want to drive real fast maybe we should meet at the top of stunt maybe?? Im sorry, but I have nightmares about racing on crowded streets and injuring an innocent person. Mulhollands full of them and i think its just way too risky, btw i remember reading something about banning running a red light on mulholland, wtf are you serious?

The "piece of asphalt" we drive has history. As Derek said, we have become friends. Once a week, we gather and have a good time. The thread is kept alive, so that others can join, if they want.

Ok... .. there is only one way to resolve this turkey argument. - the gentelman way!...Let the old lady Molholland speak! Thinkfloyd and Banning should dispute it on Mulholland. I offer to wach over the eventSmileWavy

If that were true, you would not have said that "mullholands crap".

And by the way turkey is another name for stupid.

It looks like you require enlightenment.
When one is in racing mode, you don't stop for red lights.
Because if you do, either the ones behind you will catch up or the cops will. Either way you will feel pretty dumb sitting and waiting for these things to happen while at a red.

If you can't play with the big boys, stay in the sandbox.

You are right Derek, there is no good reason to not be civil.
My apologies for any ill comments towards anyone. We all just want to have fun as long as no one gets hurt. I guess that I am a little protective of Mulholland, for my own personal reasons.

lfot 05-20-2007 12:13 PM

Hey, in case people haven't left yet...

A little bird told me that there are cops (rangers actually, with cop authority) sitting and waiting up there today. For us? Who knows.

It's going to be a cruise day I think.

woodstock 05-20-2007 01:20 PM

HEY EVERYONE. I'M NEW SO BE GENTLE, OK? I WANTED TO COMMENT ON THE MULHOLLAND ISSUE. I WAS ONE OF THE LUCKY FEW WHO RAN MULHOLLAND (AS A RIDER, NOT A DRIVER) BACK IN THE 60'S, AND THE 70'S. I HAVE GREAT MEMORIES AND IT WAS A KICK FOR ME TO MAKE THE RUN WITH BOTH OF MY OLDER BROTHERS, AND SOME OF THE GUYS I DATED. I RODE IN CARS LIKE CUDA'S AND SS CAMARO'S, NOVA'S AND EVEN MY MOM'S CHEVELLE TO NAME A FEW. THOSE WERE GREAT RIDES BUT IT'S NOT THE SAME TODAY. I'VE MADE THE RUN A FEW SUNDAYS OF LATE AND THINK THERE HAS GOT TO BE A BETTER PLACE TO GO THATS NOT SO CROWDED, AND THAT WON'T BEAT UP THE CARS LIKE MULHOLLAND CAN.
I LOOK FORWARD TO THE RUN WHERE EVER IT IS. I THINK I JUST LIKE GETTING TOGETHER WITH SPEED JUNKIES AND HAVING A GOOD TIME.

Maltese Falcon 05-20-2007 02:10 PM

i just don't get it. I've seen numerous people on pelican scold others for driving recklessly on canyon runs, quite frankly because its dangerous and it gives sports car drivers a bad name. (heres just one of many examples i can think of on the top of my head http://forums.pelicanparts.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=325316&highlight=vralex ander).
But when this guy Banning brags about running red lights and driving dangerously fast on a road where theres houses, kids, familys driving along he gets praise????? I'm sorry but I just don't buy it...looks like you guys are brown nosing, rather than thinking. I know mullholland has great history, but everything has its time, and in this current time--Mullholland has lost it's lore. Its just too crowded--and too dangerous. Cruises on Mul are fantastic which is what I hope you guys are doing, and there are great empty roads not far from there which Joseph initially pointed out, (I failed at backing him up). I think if you guys are really goin at it, maybe the real driving should be held there where theres no traffic lights whatsoever.

And what gives you the right (banning) to be even IN "racing mode" on a busy street. Looks like you may need to travel back to the sandbox. I just hope one of my family members isnt driving opposite of you while your "racing" and may lose control.

anyways, once again im not gonna do another grammar check

California poppy leaves were used medicinally by Native Americans, and the pollen was used cosmetically. The seeds are used in cooking.

Extract from the California poppy acts as a mild sedative when smoked. The effect is far milder than that of opium, which contains a different class of alkaloids. Smoking California poppy extract is claimed not to be addictive.[citation needed]

A tincture of California poppy can be used to treat nervousness and, with larger dosage, insomnia.[citation needed]

The Antelope Valley California Poppy Reserve is located in northern Los Angeles County, California. At the peak of the blooming season, orange petals seem to cover all 1,745 acres

Banning,

I do not know you, but you are making your character known quite well. I am on thinkfloyd's side on this. Racing on the street in this day and age, is just plain stupid. It is too easy to get involved with org's that sponsor on track racing events. Unfortunately, it is also too easy to do something incredibly stupid, like hit and kill someone while racing somewhere that is now unsuitable. After viewing the video a week ago from one of the runs, I can't for the life of me figure out why you would even want to race on that road - it seems from the vid that it would be better suited for a Baja 500 vehicle nowadays. I am NOT trying to bash anyone, but why are you bashing on thinkfloyd for be reasonable and prudent about this. Seems a bit immature to me. Officially off my soapbox...

The Chef 05-20-2007 06:59 PM

Ah. the infamous Ricinus communis plant. I have to remember that one. I had fun today. My right foot was feeling anxious though. I had the need for speed.

I guess you guys saw that cop after one of the turns. It was a quick brake and up shift.

slodave 05-20-2007 07:11 PM

Thanks for coming by today, Joseph. I had a feeling the green 911 I saw on Ventura was a Pelican. At least the run on the way back was fun. I have a fairly open weekday schedule. If you want, we can go hit up some of the other canyons...

Dave

Banning 05-20-2007 07:24 PM

It was a great day for Mulholland.
Thanks for coming to my house Derek, Radu, and Victor.
We have great plans.
Mulholland will live on through our stories.
It was great to meet you Joseph, and your 911 is very nice.
We will leave the losers behind. They don't belong.
Fantastic things are about to happen.

First of all, I am a resident.
Second, I am the event coordinator for the Ferrari Owners Club of the United States, and I am aware of the dangers of driving fast.
I appreciate that racing on public roads is wrong.
You are correct in taking the side of safety. No one wants to hurt any innocent bystander. I agree.
We don't want to revive the crazy old days, they are gone.
We also don't want some idiot talking about what he thinks Mulholland is all about. In this day and age, safety is very important on the road.
Please leave Mulholland to those that understand and respect it. The rest can stay at home, where they belong.

ThinkFloyd
Chris,
You have me in tears laughing so hard over this ThinkFloyd guy.
Every time I read your comeback post's I just keep laughing.

This ThinkFloyd clown clearly fits the description of the Mulholland Experience' 1985 timeline "Drug group".

I cannot figure out what this clown is doing on any thread on this website? This guy is annoying everyone and being an idiot.

I think after a few "what are you doing on this thread" post's he will go away.
