"Not bad" would be an understatement. What sort of connection do you have?

LAN at work.

On my home PC I'm only getting 10% of that, but my $hitbox computer is the bottleneck. If I use my work laptop on my home connection I'll get a consistent 4mbps.

I'm trialing a new modem on and off for The Morthership, and I hit 8.5 mbps the other night at home. Pretty sweet.

My DSL modem was fried in the Storm last night, slong with my router. I switched to my portable router and an "old" DSL modem.

I am now getting 2600 up and 450 down on the DSL line. Not for long, since this is the back up connection, I reduced it to the $14.95 per month 750kbps connection.

My work connection is really not bad. We share it with a research lab on wireless internet networks. That can explain...we have direct fiber optic link to the university servers
