Oh, I get the Cream-era Clapton stuff. I love it. But I love those guys as a band and I don't think Clapton stood out from the Jack and Ginger. All three were great. It just never grabbed me like other stuff did.

And of course, I love Angus Young. How can you not? That guy is like an Energizer bunny on stage. And what I really like about him is that his sounds never got any fancier or modern once he got rich and famous. Just his old SG's and Marshalls and a willingness to rock his a$s off all the time. Love those guys. Can't wait to go see them again.

What a great description... that's KR! Like Tabs posted..."Get Yer Ya Ya's" says it all...

Rick, if you thought BB was good, and I saw him too, you should have caught Albert K. Your statements wouldn't have to be modified, just underscored. They were like twins in their style, yet different, as twins can be. Albert made those strings sing. Then there was Freddie King, but I don't have but one copy of his work. They were all related somehow.

The Stones havent done anything good since Exile on Main St. Even then, they were always a lesser band than the Beatles. Yeah, Keith Richards is a great guitarist. To compare him to Clapton? please.

Ah...the "Three Kings"! Freddie was/is by far my favorite, followed by Albert, then BB. Some of Albert's late 60's/early 70's live stuff is the epitome of his output imo. I've got quite a few cds from all three of these blues masters, and they are all quite unique and excellent in their own right. For those of you unfamiliar, Freddie died in (I think) '76, but he influenced quite a few of our 'guitar gods'...I have one of his cds with EC on it...

ps: They are not related...

The first concert I ever saw was BB King at Sea World in Orlando Florida. I was seven years old and my father took me to meet him and shake his hand after the show. I had no idea who he was at the time, but its something I'll never forget.

BB is a living legend. One of the last of his time, and most likely the last great blues guy anyone in mainstream America will ever hear of. Albert King is probably the most copied Blues guitarist ever, but a lot of people that play guitar don't even know who he was. Freddie was the King of The Three Kings, IMO, but even fewer people know who he was.

Are you ready for Freddie? None of my Albert King youtube links work anymore, but here are a few good ones of the Texas Cannonball.

Thanks for those links Shuie! I'd never seen any of them...in fact, I guess those are the only videos I've ever seen of Freddie.

One of Keith Richards 'bursts and rack of his guitars from the Cologne show on the last world tour. Pictures taken by one of the techs. I can't believe he takes this stuff on tour anymore. No telling how many Blackguard Teles and 'bursts he has, but it still blows me away
