Neuter a feral cat?
Which way is better. the old knife method, or the old rubber band method? |

i just bring mine in to one of those animal lovers 24hr emergency clinic places. They do it for free and I'm confident they know what they're doing. Animal support groups are all over.

We did it to keep the claws from flying everywhere. Worked very well...
Have a very good friend who used a .22 on feral cats. Know what you mean.

You guys would never make it on a farm...
Slak, there has to be someone in your area who will do the job for free. Call a Vet and ask around and they usually know of someone.

You know, I did the "shoot, shovel, and shut up" routine with what I thought was a feral cat once. A few days later, a little girl rang our doorbell. She showed me a photo of a cat, asked if I'd seen him, because he was missing and she loved him very much...

LOL! Yea I get it. Just saying diffrent strokes. I suppose if it was post-WW3 I could kill dogs or cats or whatever with my bare hands and eat 'em, but that's another discussion, like the whole "would you resort to cannibalism to survive" thing.
I suppose I could do the castration thing to an animal if I had to, but ideally I'd want to sedate the thing first. We're talking about a living, breathing creature that feels pain and hurt like we do after all.

First off, a friend of mine is having the cat problem not me. I do not want nor will I accept money from anyone to have this thing neutered. I talked to my friend, we are going to trap the cat, and look for a vet who will do the neutering then let it go again. My friend does not want to shoot the cat as he lives next to a farm and it catches mice and other rodents.
