Not just Byron. Hmmm, maybe we should email Tony's girl...tell her the real story?

[i]There are only three true sports - mountain climbing, bullfighting and motor racing- Ernest Hemingway [/B]
This quote is often attributed to Hemingway, but nobody can pin down the quote. Hemingway scholars say that he probably never said it, since he's written some rather negative things about bullfighting.

Road races like the 'gumball' say nothing flattering about the entrants. Real competition has no place on the open street.

On the Hemingway quote:

This is one in a long list of quotations mysteriously attributed to Ernest Hemingway. While the general public seem to agree that this is in fact a Hemingway quotation, scholars have some reservations and for good reason. The early Hemingway did not believe that bullfighting was a sport. For him it was a tragedy. See his October 20, 1923 article titled "Bullfighting A Tragedy" reprinted in By-Line: Ernest Hemingway Selected Articles and Dispatches of Four Decades edited by William White. Hemingway reiterates his beliefs regarding the tragedy of bullfighting in his 1932 book, Death in the Afternoon.

After years of searching, I have been unsuccessful in attributing this quotation to Ernest Hemingway or to anyone else for that matter.

Well I defiantly know what he would have thought of me running a cat over. FYI for those who dont know much about Hemingway he had something like 100 cats.

"Hemingway attempted suicide in the spring of 1961, and received ECT treatment again. Some three weeks short of his 62nd birthday, he took his life on the morning of July 2, 1961 at his home in Ketchum, Idaho, with a shotgun blast to the head. Judged not mentally responsible for his final act, he was buried in a Roman Catholic service."

HELL YES, I'm pissed!!!! One of my cats diassapeared on Monday, and I've been going crazy since. I would have put a real hurting on them boys, they would wish to be in a 3rd world prison before I was done with them

Went to a few shelters yesterday to see if Scrappy was there, but no luck, a very hard thing, as some shelters are "kill" shelters, and the one I checked that was just such and a cute little Momma and her 6 kittens where to be killed today, so, anyone want a kitten, all have been checked (you know I couldn't let them die) and are healthy and super cute. My cats won't let me keep them, but gave me the OK to save them

you're in trouble now, tony

Hey Byron, don't you think Tony needs to come clean with his ladyfriend? I'm emailing Dr Phil (and I don't mean Joaska)

I hope they go down for it if it is proved fairly that they were driving dangerously.

We have to wait for a court verdict to see if that was the case.

I genuinely believe that the crash photos (poor as they are) do not show a high speed head on collision.

Its very easy to couple the words Porsche and rich and Gumball together and assume they were grossly in the wrong.

What would we all be saying if one the convoys to Le Mans from the UK was involved in a similar crash?

In any case this will probably mean that ANY convoy of Porsches (and other high performance cars) in Europe is hounded by the police and may mean that the Gumball is banned by European countries even if they were innocent of the charges.

Lets wait for the verdict before we leap to judge these guys with NO evidence..

Sounds fair, Stevo....let the Greek authorities handle it. Maybe the next Gumball should run through Turkey?

Luckily no one saw me. Her neighbor across the street saw the cat and ran over to tell Jennifer at that time I came back around acting like I knew nothing. She was crying we ended up taking the cat to a emergency pet clinic where they extracted $900 from me for emergency care. To cut this short the cat lived it just had a momentary collapse of one of its lungs. Ill never tell Jennifer the truth. Im glad thats off my chest
Well Tony, at least you stepped up and paid the bill, if you hadn't, well, that would say alot about you. You need to tell her to keep the cat indoors, it is much safer these days.

You are wrong. Brock Yates cancelled the original "Cannonball" for a reason. Perhaps you should research his "why" reasoning...

The crash happened in Stuga - Western Macedonia - they went to the Albanian border which is about 6 miles away.

time of their life by ignoring the speed laws
these cats drive around with envellopes full of currency for the sole purpose of paying the tickets of the speeding tickets they know they'll get

they went to those countries because they know they can't pull that kind of **** in the western european countries anymore... so they moved over to where they figured they could drive around like idiots...

anybody who does that, is effectively looking for lawlessness in order to do what they can't do in any more civilized country

all fine till somebody dies... and somebodie did die, so they have no right to complain about the legal system they sought out to exploit...

It's like that dude in the UK , Garry Glitter, imprisoned for pedofelia, went to Vietnam thinking he could get away ith it there... long story short, he didn't get away with it , and is now in a Vietnamese jail...

if you gonna do something that is illegal, don't complain if it bites you in the ass... it is that simple
