Excellent!!!

Everytime I see a jack@ss throw a cigarette out of a window I think how great it would be to pull up next to them at the next light and dump a full ashtray through a sun roof or open window.

notfarnow,

I'm with you 100% ....

I used to live in Montclair, California and would occasionally come home from somewhere on a weekend and there would be a family of Mexicans having a picnic on my lawn under my tree. 4-5 different times. Swear! Unbelievable! Old to young. I would drive in my driveway and it wouldn't phase them. The first time this happened, I must have come home from church because I was in a good mood and said to myself "Poor people".
Anyway- 3 hours later when they finally left after using my garden hose to wash out there babies diapers on my lawn. They left all there trash thrown about. Threw a couple of bud cans inside my hedge. Bones scattered all over and I had to rake them up. At that point I realized these are fricken third worlders and have no clue their doing anything wrong. Dogs! This repeatedly happened for a while until I started turning on my sprinklers. One Saturday, one of them was in my backyard picking my nectarines. They would flip me off and all the nice words. I was the bad guy? I would guess they were illegal's because they looked straight from below the boarder and not a stitch of English...
I moved to R.C. California to escape the invasion for now...Maybe one could understand my frustration toward the amnesty bill.

Bob

Dude, that is so awesome. I hate it at night when I can see the cigarette getting thrown out the window and it bounces, showing sparks. It takes all of my self control not to do something irrational.

Well it was all there right where he was parked, so I scooped it up again. Had my hands full with two wound up dogs and two bags of litter.

fking pigs

Funny thing is I don't know if I'd be picking up the trash if it wasn't for the dogs. They are little canine garborators... they're forever picking up garbage and strutting along with it. A few times I'd pull it from their mouth and just throw it back down, but that didn't feel right so I started picking it up.

Had a nice walk anyway. You really can't let beagles off their leads, but I throw dog treats out in the water and the younger dog will fetch them... even if you throw them WAAAAYY out there.

FWIW, I actually picked up a granola bar wrapper tonight, so there goes my stereotype.

A few years ago when I was Fire Chief, I was sitting at a light in my Chiefs vehicle. a woman pulls up next to me and tosses a cigarette out on the side of the road in the grass. Looks at me an pulls away when the light turns green. I follow her to the next light and pull up alongside her. I politely tell her that I seen her toss the lit cig out. Also to remind her of the fact that we hadnt had rain in about three weeks and ther grass and leaves are very dry.
I then proceed to tell her that I have her plate # and vehicle description, and If I recieve a fire call at that location later on. I will give her info to the township police and that she will be charged with arson. She looked at me like I had 2 heads and stammered something about being sorry.
She ended up turning around and driving back down the street to look for the cigarette and stamped it out. I watched her in the mirror, I almost peed my pants.

the guy/girl was probably really confused and pissed when he found the stuff in his truck. Probably didn't even realize that some of it was his. But no surprise that he just dumped it again.

Next step, bring a dump truck full and bury the car/truck.

Did that once, after a fire works display. I saw a guy dumping trash out of his car. I went over and picked it up and layed it back in his lap and said thanks for taking care of this. He just sat there with his mout wide open, couldn't say a word.....then I got a good look at him..........he was huge..........(I'm outa here)

I have profound respect for those that pick up litter. Those that have to pick up the stuff left by others in front of their house , those that volunteer to maintain a stretch of highway and especially those, like yourself, that stop and do what is right while enjoying nature.

My 4 year old wants to be a trash man - mostly because of the big trucks with joysticks. I have taught him and his 3 older sisters to pick up trash. Typically it is parking lot trash on the way into a store. Grab it and easily drop it into the cans at the entrance - they are disappointed if no trash is around! My wife tells them its too dirty sometimes - I have lower standards I guess - we know what stuff is too yucky to touch.

Regarding your vigilante opportunity; sweet justice! But remember who you are dealing with - both for your safety and to get through their thick skulls. Putting just their trash "neatly" into their car might have gotten the message across without making them defensive and raising their resistance to learning.

In the area I live we routinely have fires along the road from cigarettes and even dragging trailer chain sparks - it is DRY here. I still see the window being used as an ashtray. Perhaps it should be illegal to have a burning object near an open window - enforcement would be fun!

Keep up the good work - but be careful out here!

Bravo! Deserves it.

Years ago some a$$wipe dumped a bunch of cig butts on the ground at a stoplight. I was on the bike and walked over and picked up some and tossed them right back in the window. Guy started to go after me and we had a discussion about "the street is not your garbage bin" and it ended rudely but no fight.

Hope he got the message. His nice shirt did with the ashes on it!

Cigarette butts should have a 25 cent deposit on them.

When I was a kid, my mother gave us 25 cents per cigarette butt when we were at the beach. We'd usually have enough to stop at McDonalds on the way home.

Congrats. Not surprising the a$$hat just dumped the trash in the parking spot. What would you expect from such a social retard, anyway? But I'm sure the guy/gal recognized the McDonalds bag....

That being said, I've also started picking up stuff along my neighborhood walks with the dog and my 2 year-old. Usually it's beer cans. Is there something about Bud Light drinkers (and occasionally Coors Light) that imbues them with a higher predilection for using the world as their trashcan? I mean, 80% of the garbage I pick up is comprised of Bud Light cans! (No granola wrappers, yet.)

Do the police even write tickets for littering anymore? In this age of the police being more of a revenue generator than about protecting the public it seems they could make a mountain of money at the local park/beach by writing littering tickets on any given weekend.

And it would be something the general public would be happy to see them doing as a PR thing.

We are supposed to be able to call a state phone number and report people dumping things out of their car. Forgotten the number and wonder if its still in effect. They sure deserve to be caught and put on the litter patrol.

You could have left it on the outside.

I was driving near my house once when I saw a minivan unloading garbage bags in a protected area just off a main road. They were basically dumping crap in someones back yard.

As luck would have it I had a video camera with me. I just pulled in behind them and lifted my video camera and aimed it at them. I didn't even turn it on. They looked at me and then picked up all their garbage and drove off. Losers.

My pet peeve is all the garbage at highway exits. People exit the highway pull up to the stop sign and drop off water bottles, coffee cups etc etc. Why can't they just dump it in the trash bin at home?

And don't get me started about the dog crap on my front lawn. I would have no qualms about returning it to the rightful owners front porch if I knew where it came from. You have a dog, carry a bag, scoop up his crap, and don't let him out at night to ***** in my yard. Simple, isn't it?
