No thongs or hip-hoppity boxers in Atlanta?

Hey, I think baggy pants and exposed boxers are the stupidest looking thing I've ever seen. So, I don't wear them.

Of course, a little thong string or bra strap never hurt anyone, IMO.

http://www.ajc.com/metro/content/metro/atlanta/stories/2007/08/22/saggy_0823.html

Exposed boxer shorts and thongs would be illegal in any public place in Atlanta if the City Council approves a proposed amendment to the city's indecency laws.

The target is young men who wear their pants low off their hips to show off the two pairs of boxers they wear beneath their saggy pants, said Atlanta Councilman C.T. Martin, a college recruitment consultant who sponsored the ordinance. Saggy pants are an "epidemic" that are becoming a "major concern" in cities and states around the country, the ordinance reads.

Under the proposed ordinance, women also couldn't reveal the strap of a thong beneath their pants. Nor could they wear jogging bras in public or show off even a wisp of a bra strap, said Debbie Seagraves, executive director of the American Civil Liberties Union of Georgia.

The proposed ordinance states that "the indecent exposure of his or her undergarments" would be unlawful in a public place. It would go in the same portion of the city code that outlaws sex in public and the exposure or fondling of genitals and the breast of a woman. Martin said the penalty would be a fine in an amount to be determined.

Truth remains, as always, stranger than fiction. You just can't make this stuff up.

Its one thing to see some boxer material sticking out the top of some pants, its a whole other thing what some of these guys are wearing. I was at Busch Gardens a couple of months ago and this 6'8" guy is wearing his pants below his @ss and has on silk, purple, boxers. Me, being all of 5'8" got to stair at his purple butt while in line for a ride or walking behind him. He was getting a lot of weird looks from a lot of people that day.

I also saw this same exact thing in rural North Carolina in a grocery store. Its tasteless and rude.

However I do not think its the job of the local government to deal with this. Its not nudity its just poor fashion choices.

Hard to legislate stupidity. Seriously though, jogging bras in public?! Ban women from jogging?

I think the pants glued to the bottom of the butt is dumb, to tell you the truth, the thong sticking out of the top of the pants is dumb too, but I don't think it's the place of the govt to regulate sports bras, bra straps, etc.... A bra strap hanging out of the sleeve or out from under a tank top strap is not indecent, and they shouldn't call it that.

Hey, they should be glad these guys wear their pants so low. It makes it far more difficult to outrun the cops on foot.

Yup, I read a Miami Dade cops blog and he laughs in one of his entries over the fact that a perp could not outrun him because his pants kept falling down.

Oh, I'm equally offended by people in matching sweatsuits, especially when worn by those who have obviously never done a second of exercise.

I read that the untied sneakers thing a few years back was a jail thing (they take away their shoe laces). I wonder if the pants falling off was a jail thing too (no belt)?

Just what the world needs - more worthless legislation on the books.

Yep, every thing that I have checked said the same thing. And the people who dress like this wonder why they don't get hired and security tend to watch them real close, it is because you dress like a felon you morons!!!!!!
